  • Patent number: 6149000
Abstract: The golf bag has an inner portion and an outer portion. The inner portion has a first variation of which several embodiments are shown having from 12 to 15 storage spaces. a second variation has 14 spaces subdivided by three linear parallel chords across the circular collar of a golf bag. Both configurations provide a golf club storage configuration which helps circumferentially distribute the load from the weight of the clubs about the internal periphery of the golf bag, while providing an aesthetically pleasing fanciful pattern. The inner section is made up of material sewn along the axial length of the inner section and which may be supported by a more rigid tubular exterior, or which may be anchored with a velcro material. A ham-shaped embodiment provides a pleasing departure from the circular embodiments.

  • Patent number: 6036009
Abstract: A golf bag has a configuration is particularly suited for a junior bag, but which can be employed on adult sized bags. A series of fill or partial length dividers loop against a soft, pliable layer with attachment of adjacent dividers in a close relationship, the adjacent dividers also attached to each other along their length to control the shape of a central pocket. Embodiments for four, five, six and seven dividers are disclosed. At the upper end of an inner divider section, an annular stabilization ring is made more stable by a collar ring and its covering material, which is attached both to the stabilization ring and to an upper structure of a golf bag. A rigid outer sleeve may be used to orient the soft pliable material within the golf bag, or a planar expanse of material attached to cover the bottom of the soft pliable layer of material. Alternate shapes for both inner and outer sections include round, oval, ham shaped and rectangular.

  • Patent number: 5806675
Abstract: The golf bag of the present invention uses an insert formed of an outer portion including a plurality of serpentine mounted, looped compartments which helps circumferentially distribute the load from the weight of the clubs about the internal periphery of the golf bag, and which continue to the bottom of the golf bag as full length dividers. The inventive sleeve which surrounds and is attached to the outer periphery of the lower rim of the insert holds the insert in a taught position so that clubs carried by and removed from the insert will not bind and will be easily removable from the golf bag which carries the insert.

  • Patent number: 5785173
Abstract: A golf bag of the present invention is of two-tube construction and has an outer tubular portion including a plurality of closable compartments. An inner tubular portion is provided having several embodiments of a golf club storage configuration which helps circumferentially distribute the load from the weight of the clubs about the internal periphery of the golf bag. The two-tube construction makes for a lighter, stronger, golf bag. The inner portion is made up of material sewn along the axial length of the inner portion and supported by a more rigid tubular exterior. The rigid tubular exterior is sewn to the soft cloth interior at one end to enhance the support and separation of the soft cloth interior, by providing a pulled anchoring of the soft cloth interior and its associated divider set.
