  • Patent number: 8053026
Abstract: A method for the synthesis of nanocomposites is provided. The method comprises the steps of mixing carbon nanotubes with a urea solution to form urea/carbon nanotube composites (first step), mixing the urea/carbon nanotube composites with a solution of a metal oxide or hydroxide precursor to prepare a precursor solution (second step), and hydrolyzing the urea in the precursor solution to form a metal oxide or hydroxide coating on the carbon nanotubes (third step). Further provided are nanocomposites synthesized by the method. In the nanocomposites, a metal oxide or hydroxide is coated to a uniform thickness in the nanometer range on porous carbon nanotubes. Advantageously, the thickness of the coating can be easily regulated by controlling the urea content of urea/carbon nanotube composites as precursors. In addition, the nanocomposites are nanometer-sized powders and have high electrical conductivity and large specific surface area.

  • Patent number: 6628222
Abstract: An image processing apparatus inputs analog YUV or RGB signals, which are controlled to automatically control a gain and have uniform levels of synchronous signals, into an ADC so that the dynamic range in the ADC is optimized. The image processing apparatus converts analog luminance and chrominance signals into digital luminance and chrominance signals, and includes an automatic gain control signal generating means, and a plurality of automatic gain control amplifiers. The automatic gain control signal generating means generates an automatic gain control signal, which controls the levels of the analog luminance and chrominance signals, using the level of a synchronous signal detected from a digital Y luminance signal output from the ADC. The automatic gain control amplifiers amplify the levels of an analog luminance and chrominance signals by predetermined values using the automatic gain control signal and transmit the amplified levels to the ADC.

  • Patent number: 6307592
Abstract: A video signal format converting apparatus is provided for doubling a horizontal/vertical frequency, and converting the composition ratio of a luminance signal and color-difference signals, by which both horizontal/vertical frequency-converted and frequency-unconverted input signals can be processed. In this apparatus, external input signals not yet scan frequency-doubled and those scan frequency-doubled are controlled to be all processed. Thus, various input signals can be processed, and an external input signal not yet scan frequency-doubled can be processed even without installing a special scan conversion device.

  • Patent number: 5963875
Abstract: An automatic dialing method of a mobile telephone system linked to a mobile telephone network including a first memory and a second memory storing pre-registered telephone numbers of selected subscribers and abbreviated numbers corresponding to the telephone numbers. The automatic dialing method requires determining whether one of a telephone number of a called subscriber and an abbreviated number corresponding to the telephone number is entered by an operator; sequentially storing the telephone number of the called subscriber in the first memory as each digit of the telephone number is being entered by the operator; determining whether a predetermined time period has expired after all digits of the telephone number have been entered by the operator and sequentially stored in the first memory; and automatically dialing the telephone number of the called subscriber for establishing a connection to the mobile telephone network upon expiration of the predetermined time period.
