    Abstract: A method of manufacturing an optical disc includes easily removing a bump formed on a circumference of the optical disc during forming a transparent layer by using a spin-coating method to form the optical disk having a high-density recording capacity. The method includes preparing a substrate having a diameter larger than that of a desired disc, applying an ultraviolet hardening resin to the substrate and forming a transparent layer having a predetermined thickness by a spin-coating method, illuminating an ultraviolet ray on the transparent layer and a bump formed on a circumference of the transparent layer to be hardened, and cutting out the bump by using a puncher. According to the method, the bump which inevitably occurs when the transparent layer is formed, can be easily cut out by a puncher.

    Abstract: A backlight unit includes a light guide panel where a holographic pattern is formed. A point light source emits light to an edge of the light guide panel. A refractive member is provided between the point light source and the light guide panel and reduces an azimuth angle of light incident on the light guide panel. The refractive member includes, from an optical axis of the point light source, a light transmission zone transmitting light as it is, a blaze zone where a blaze pattern having a saw-toothed shape in which one surface near the optical axis and substantially parallel to the optical axis is formed, and a prism zone where a triangular prism pattern is formed. The backlight unit may further include a diffusive member diffusing light emitted from the point light source to be incident on the refractive member.

The white semiconductor light emitting device of the present invention comprises a semiconductor light emitting diode and the yellow phosphor, which absorbs a portion of light emitted by the semiconductor light emitting diode and emits light of wavelength different from that of the absorbed light.

    Abstract: A CMOS image sensor for improving light sensitivity and peripheral brightness ratio, and a method for fabricating the same. The CMOS image sensor includes a substrate on which a light sensor and device isolating insulation films are formed, in which the top of the substrate is coated with a plurality of metal layers and oxide films; a plurality of reflective layers formed inside the metal layers, each being spaced apart; a color filter embedded in a groove formed by etching the oxide films inside the reflective layers by a predetermined thickness; a plurality of protrusions formed on both sides of the top of the color filter, each arranged at a predetermined distance from one another; a flat layer formed on the top of the protrusions and the oxide films; and a micro-lens formed on the top of the flat layer. The reflective layer disposed at the top of the photodiode is made of a material having a high reflectance and low absorptivity.

    Abstract: An illumination apparatus for planar display devices, including an optical element for making light travel parallel to an optical axis, is provided. The illumination apparatus includes a dot light source for radiating light, and a light guide plate having the optical element. The optical element is composed of a first refraction facet, which is adjacent to the dot light source and increases the emission angle of the light, and a second refraction facet, which is isolated a predetermined distance from the first refraction facet while facing the first refraction facet and reduces the emission angle of the light. In this structure, the light travels parallel to the optical axis. In the illumination apparatus, the emission angle of incident light is reduced, preferably, the light travels parallel to the optical axis.
