Abstract: A method for determining a transmission power in a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system based on a cooperative transmission is provided. The method includes setting a power constraint condition of a transmitter and target quality information of a receiver. The method further includes determining the transmission power to be allocated to the transmitter to transmit the data to the receiver based on the power constraint condition and the target quality information.

Abstract: Provided is a method and device for increasing energy efficiency by adaptively performing clipping with respect to an input signal. The method may adaptively determine a clipping ratio (CR) based on a modulation method of the communication device and perform clipping based on the determined CR.

Abstract: A system for saving energy through control of a sleep mode, and a method of operating the system are provided. The energy-saving system may enable a proxy device to maintain a minimum basic setup necessary for a communication when a host device enters a sleep mode, and may omit an operation performed based on the basic setup when the host device switches to a communication mode, thereby enabling a smooth switch between the sleep mode and the communication mode.

Abstract: A mobile station and method for neighbor discovery are provided. The mobile station comprises a mapping table storing a connection identifier (CID) prefix and a neighbor identifier, a controller generating a CID with respect to a message that will be transmitted by referring to the mapping table, and a message transmitter transmitting, by using the CID, the message to a base station connected to the mobile station.

Abstract: An apparatus for a fast reactive handover in an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) mobile system is provided, in which a message receiver receives a new connection notification message from a point of attachment when the point of attachment makes a new connection with a mobile unit, and a message transmitter sends a router advertisement (RA) message to the mobile unit in response to receiving the new connection notification message.

Abstract: Provided are a mobile network control apparatus and energy saving method. The mobile network control apparatus for may calculate a first amount of total consumed power consumed by m base stations to provide a first cell as a coverage range, and a second amount of total consumed power consumed by n base stations to provide a second cell including the first cell as a coverage range. The mobile network control apparatus may save energy by initiating an operation of the n base stations on a high power mode, and by suspending an operation of a remaining base station excluding the n base stations if the first amount of total consumed power is greater than the second amount of total consumed power.

Abstract: A method and mobile terminal for allocating an Internet protocol (IP) address in a wireless network. A method of allocating an IP address in a wireless network which is applied to a system including a mobile terminal and an access router (AR) storing IP addresses, which are used on a connected link, in an address cache, managing the IP addresses, and performing a duplicate address detection (DAD) based on the IP addresses, the method including confirming whether a notification message, transmitted from the AR, is received, and automatically configuring an IP address and requesting the AR to perform the DAD with respect to the automatically configured IP address, when the notification message is received.

Abstract: A mobility supporting method and a mobility supporting system using the method are provided. The mobility supporting method includes a first access router for allocating a prefix to a mobile terminal, and registering the allocated prefix in an authentication server when the mobile terminal connects to the first access router. There is also the authentication server for verifying the mobile terminal based on the registered prefix, and reporting a result of the verifying of the mobile terminal to a second access router when the mobile terminal moves to connect to the second access router and the second access router for notifying the reported result of the verifying the mobile terminal to the first access router.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing a transmission delay of a downlink frame in a wireless communication system are provided. A frame transmission method in an access point (AP) includes classifying each of a plurality of hosts as any one of a normal destination and a suspect destination according to whether a retransmission is exhausted, and managing at least one frame to be transmitted to each of the normal destination and the suspect destination in a first queue and a second queue, and assigning at least one frame transmission attempt to the first queue and the second queue according to a transmission priority.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing data at a data storage device according to remote control are provided. In response to a remote control permission request being received from a remote control device, identification information included in the remote control permission request may be authenticated. A remote control command according to a right corresponding to the identification information may be performed when the remote control command is received from the remote control device.

Abstract: A mobile terminal and method of notifying an access router of an Internet protocol (IP) address of the mobile terminal in a wireless network are provided where a mobile terminal notifies an access router of an IP address of the mobile terminal, performing duplicate address detection (DAD) with respect to an automatically-configured IP address are performed, and a notification message including the IP address resulting from the performing of the DAD are transmitted to the access router. The access router is notified by using the notification message. The mobile terminal uses the IP address, based on whether there is a response with respect to the notification message transmitted to the access router after the performing of the DAD.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of setting an address of a communication apparatus is provided where when an access router transmits a Router Advertisement (RA) message to the communication apparatus, the communication apparatus sets an address establishment scheme of the communication apparatus according to a first field of the RA message. The RA message includes information about the address establishment scheme, which the communication apparatus is able to use, in the first field.

Abstract: A wireless local area network system capable of supporting host mobility services and an operation method therefor. The wireless local area network system includes a gateway performing the functions of a home agent in mobile wireless communication environments and sending prefix information; and access points, each access point allocating an Internet Protocol (IP) address to a mobile host within a range thereof by using prefix information of the gateway. Thereafter, each access point produces and sends a Binding Update list that corresponds to the mobile hosts to the gateway. Thus, the present invention supports the mobility for mobile hosts with or without a mobile IPv6 stack, in a wireless local area network.

Abstract: Provided is a method of generating and managing a connection identifier (CID) for supporting an IPv6 multicast in a wireless network based on IEEE 802.16 and a network interface using the method. Further provided is a network interface included in a node of IPv6-based wireless network, the network interface includes a MAC driver for storing at least one multicast CID and a MAC address of the node which is mapped in the at least one multicast CID, and a control unit for receiving a multicast message which is transmitted from a base station, and transferring the multicast message to an IP layer, when the multicast message includes the multicast CID which is stored in the MAC driver.

Abstract: A network emulation device and method in a terminal of an IEEE 802.16 communication system supporting IPv6 communications based on a Neighbor Discovery (ND) protocol are provided. The terminal includes an IPv6 module for performing an ND mechanism to search for a neighbor terminal or a router, a MAC module for communicating based on the IEE 802.16 standard, and a network emulation module provided between the IPv6 module and the MAC module for analyzing a ND message received from the IPv6 module and discarding the ND message or generating a response message for the ND message according to the message type. The network emulation module converts a broadcast ND message to a unicast message and provides the unicast message to a corresponding network device if network information needed to internally generate the response message is not collected.

Abstract: An automated system and method of establishing a local mobility domain (LMD) and a local mobility agent (LMA) on a mobile terminal node (MN) using Internet Protocol version (IPv6) preferably includes: establishing within the MN a newly contacted access router (AR) as the LMA and then receiving from the LMA and storing a list of neighboring ARs, which comprise the LMD. Each AR contains a stored list of neighboring ARs that are within a predetermined range of the AR, which is dynamically set by a network manager. The MN registers a retrieved local and regional address with both the LMA and a home agent (HA.) When the MN moves to a new AR, the stored list of the new AR is checked for the present LMA. The LMA is only changed to the new AR and re-registered with the HA if the new AR is in a different LMD.

Abstract: A fast handoff method of an Access Router includes receiving and storing at an Access Point a Router Advertisement message periodically sent from the Access Router to which the Access Point is connected, the Access Point being connected to at least one mobile node in wireless manner and supporting services to the at least one mobile node; generating at least one Care-of Address (CoA) at the Access Point, performing Duplicate Address detection, and storing the CoAs for which the Duplicate Address detection is successfully completed; forming, when a new mobile node enters a service-available range of the Access Point, a link to the new mobile node at the Access Point, including any of the stored CoAs in the Router Advertisement message, and sending the Router Advertisement message including the stored CoA to the new mobile node; and communicating the new mobile node to a network using the CoA included in the sent Router Advertisement message.

Abstract: A mobility supporting method and a mobility supporting system using the method are provided. The mobility supporting method includes a first access router for allocating a prefix to a mobile terminal, and registering the allocated prefix in an authentication server when the mobile terminal connects to the first access router. There is also the authentication server for verifying the mobile terminal based on the registered prefix, and reporting a result of the verifying of the mobile terminal to a second access router when the mobile terminal moves to connect to the second access router and the second access router for notifying the reported result of the verifying the mobile terminal to the first access router.
