The controlling method of a first display apparatus includes receiving setting information from an external storage medium in response to the first display apparatus being connected to the storage medium; and in response to the first display apparatus being set as a master device according to the setting information, transmitting reproduction time information of image contents to a second display apparatus, synchronizing the second display apparatus with the first display apparatus with respect to the image contents, and reproducing the synchronized image contents.
