  • Publication number: 20090143788
Abstract: The invention is to provide a navigating method and system for drilling operation in spinal surgery. The method and system is applied to the subjects who receive pedicle insertion operation in spinal surgery. The specific vertebras are under radiography using X-ray machine at both anterior/posterior and lateral views. These imaging are then transmitted into a computer system for image distortion correction and registration. By drawing the safety regions of the pedicle on the indicated vertebra in both AP and Lat. images, three-dimensional safety volumes of the pedicle of the vertebra are developed by intersection operation. Therefore, prior to and during the clinical spine operation, surgeons are able to safe navigation by referring the referential orientation via the developed system.

  • Publication number: 20080138216
Abstract: A fan motor device includes a fan base, an impeller set and a motor set. The fan base extends a central barrel with ball bearings fitting with the barrel. The impeller set further includes an impeller, a shaft, a spring, a motor case and a magnet. The motor set further includes an insulation frame, a silicone sheet set, a coil and a circuit board. The barrel has an annular deep groove between the inner circumferential side and the outer circumferential side thereof for a stop ring being attached to an inner wall surface of the groove to reinforce the outer circumferential side so as to prevent the barrel from bending deformation and the motor set from displacing eccentrically or loosening off.

  • Publication number: 20080109554
Abstract: A system and method of enabling transmission control protocol (TCP) splice between a client application and a server, while maintaining control of the connections by a content-based charging proxy. The system framework includes a TCP splicing module for splicing connections between a client application and a server, an application proxy (e.g., content-based charging proxy) for redirecting a request of the client application, and a content-based charging engine for determining the classification of the data flow between the client application and the server. If the data flow has a predetermined classification or a triggering event has been detected, the content-based charging engine transfers control of the connections to the application proxy. The application proxy, for example, can redirect the client application to a predetermined service or source based on the classification of the data flow.

  • Patent number: 7027997
Abstract: A flexible interface and a method for employing the same are provided for interconnecting a client program with a workflow server running a workflow management system having workflow-type functionality. The interface includes a set of predefined protocol user interface pages including at least one control page. At least one first workflow platform-dependent object is provided for accessing the workflow functionality. At least one second workflow platform-independent object is provided for providing data to the first workflow platform-dependent object. At least one server program is provided that is callable by the control page to access the workflow functionality by invoking at least one of the first workflow platform-dependent object and the second workflow platform-independent object to promote data translation and exchange between the client program and the workflow management system.

  • Patent number: 6785784
Abstract: A method for maintaining a common resource shared by a plurality of entities, wherein the common resource contains a plurality of entries each of which is associated with one of the plurality of entities, includes the steps of determining an amount of the common resource occupied by entries associated with a given one of the plurality of entities; and removing a number of the associated entries from the common resource to reduce the occupied amount if the occupied amount exceeds a predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 6185625
Abstract: A system for enhancing data access over a communications link is disclosed. In accordance with a particular embodiment, a system for retrieving an object over a computer network includes a network client with a browser for rendering an object to a user and a user interface enabling the user to establish an encoding preference. A remote scaling server is coupled between the network client and the computer network, and includes a remote proxy and an encode service provider. The remote scaling server is configured to request a user-specified encoding preference from the network client, retrieve an object from the computer network using the remote proxy, encode the object using the encode service provider in accordance with the requested user-specified encoding preference, and transmit the encoded object to the network client using the remote proxy. The disclosed system thus enables users to dynamically influence the trade-off between quality of content and download speed.
