  • Patent number: 9425941
Abstract: A method for allocating physical resources to an Acknowledgement (ACK)/Negative Acknowledgement (NACK) signal channel representative of a response signal in a wireless communication system. The method includes grouping ACK/NACK signal channels corresponding to a plurality of resource blocks used for transmission of a data channel or a control channel into a plurality of groups so ACK/NACK signal channels having consecutive indexes do not belong to the same group; and allocating same frequency resources to ACK/NACK signal channels belonging to the same ACK/NACK signal channel group and allocating orthogonal sequences so ACK/NACK signal channels in each ACK/NACK signal channel group are distinguished in a code domain.

  • Patent number: 9413510
Abstract: A method apparatus and system for efficiently transmitting and receiving channels are provided in a wireless communication system based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). A multiplexing scheme differs according to a channel when a transmitter transmits a packet data channel, a common control channel and a control channel designated for a particular user. Uncoded 1-bit information is broadly dispersed in frequency and time domains using multiplexing technology for maximizing diversity gain in a channel for transmitting information of at least one bit to a particular user like an acknowledgement (ACK) channel. The transmitter converts a sequence obtained by multiplexing multiple bits to be transmitted to a plurality of users to parallel signals, and broadly disperses the parallel signals in the time and frequency domains.

  • Patent number: 9379844
Abstract: A base station is provided. The base station includes transmit path circuitry that generates an uplink grant using an uplink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) downlink control information (DCI) format. The uplink MIMO DCI format includes a modulation and coding scheme (MSC) field having an MCS value for each of two transport blocks. The transmit path circuitry transmits the uplink grant to a subscriber station. For a given transport block, a combination of the MCS value corresponding to the transport block and a number positive integer of physical resource blocks allocated to the subscriber station (N_PRB) indicates whether the transport block is disabled.

  • Patent number: 9380511
Abstract: Coordinated multipoint communication is a technology for improving cell-edge performance for users in a cell-type mobile communication system. In order to enable a coordinated multipoint transmission/reception operation, a user equipment report of a local environment is required to select both coordinated communication modes and communication partners in evolved Node B (eNB) base stations. According to the present invention, a method is described for feeding back information from User Equipment (UE) to a serving base station to enable a coordinated multi-point transmission/reception operation. The information reported through the feedback is classified into two categories corresponding to received signal intensity information and received signal timing information. The UE may select one or both types of information from between the categories to provide feedback. In embodiments of the present invention, various overhead-reducing reporting formats are described.

  • Patent number: 9380565
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for wireless communication. Control symbols are mapped to a plurality of resource element groups (REGs) which is not assigned to a physical channel format indication channel (PCFICH) or a physical hybrid automatic repeat request indicator channel (PHICH). The REGs are allocated based on a time first manner. The mapped control symbols are transmitted on a packet dedicated control channel (PDCCH). A number of the REGs in a physical resource block (PRB) on an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol depends on an index of the OFDM symbol and a number of configured reference signals.
