Patent number: 6845559Abstract: A structure and a method for coupling a protective net to a flexible tube, comprising shaping the flexible tube, wrapping the flexible tube with the meshed protective net made of stainless steel, and welding both ends of the flexible tube to both ends of the protective net. A solution heating process for the flexible tube and welding process for the flexible tube and the protective net are simultaneously carried out under the same condition in the same furnace. As a result, the protective net and the flexible tube are uniform in terms of physical properties. Furthermore, intergranular corrosion of stainless steel by inevitable stress generated upon welding a flexible tube and a protective net using any one of conventional methods, and crevice corrosion between a welding ring and a flexible tube, are prevented.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2002Date of Patent: January 25, 2005Assignee: Dong-A Flexible Metal Tubes Co., Ltd.Inventor: Jin Lim Choi

Patent number: 6554231Abstract: A mounting device for mounting a reducer support beam of a sprinkler system to a ceiling support rail of a drop ceiling in a building. The mounting device comprises an adjustable clamp portion and a mount portion. The clamp portion has opposing ceiling support rail engagement portions separated by a clamping space sized and shaped for receiving a portion of the ceiling support rail of the drop ceiling. The clamp portion is adapted to adjustably move the rail engagement portions relative to one another between a loosened position and a clamped position to vary the clamping space separating the rail engagement portions. The clamping space is sized to receive the ceiling support rail when the rail engagement portions are in the loosened position. The rail engagement portions are adapted to securely engage the ceiling support rail when the rail engagement portions are in the clamped position.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2001Date of Patent: April 29, 2003Assignee: Dong-A Flexible Metal Tubes Co., Ltd.Inventor: Jin Lim Choi

Publication number: 20020003041Abstract: Disclosed herein is a flexible spiral tube for fire extinguishing systems. This invention provides a flexible spiral tube, which is not only highly flexible but also resistant to elongation, so that the tube is not easily ruptured by bending to allow the fire extinguishing sprinkler system to be easily installed in the interior of a ceiling, and is not excessively elongated by the high pressure of a fire extinguishing fluid to prevent the sprinkler head of the sprinkler system from being undesirably removed from the ceiling. The flexible spiral tube is preferably dimensioned to have an outer diameter ranging from 26.0 to 27.5 mm, a thickness ranging from 0.3 to 0.4 mm, a pitch ranging from 5.9 to 6.5 mm, the width of its groove ranging from 2.4 to 2.5 mm, and the height of its ridge ranging from 2.65 to 2.75 mm.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2001Publication date: January 10, 2002Inventor: Jin Lim Choi

Patent number: 6260810Abstract: A device for mounting a sprinkler to a ceiling support rail in a building is disclosed. This device consists of two vertical sidewalls integrated into a U-shaped single structure by a top wall. The two sidewalls are bent inwardly at their lower ends to form clip flanges for gripping the head of the ceiling support rail positioned between the two sidewalls. A first bolt hole is formed at the lower portion of each sidewall. A first locking bolt is threaded into the bolt holes of the two sidewalls so as to tighten the lower portions of the two sidewalls and allow the two sidewalls to firmly grip the ceiling support rail. Each of the two sidewalls also has a notch at its upper portion and seats the reducer support beam in the notch. The top wall has a second bolt hole. A second locking bolt is threaded into the second bolt hole so as to hold the reducer support beam seated in the notches of the two sidewalls.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2000Date of Patent: July 17, 2001Assignee: Dong-A Flexible Metal Tubes Co., Ltd.Inventor: Jin Lim Choi
