  • Publication number: 20110252588
Abstract: A cleaning disk for an optical pickup head of an optical disk drive has a disk body with a first surface and a second surface. The disk body uses at least one two-step hole portion to mount at least one brush bundle, wherein the two-step hole includes an embedded fine hole and an expansion hole. The brush bundle has a root portion and an end portion, wherein the root portion is fixed in the embedded fine hole, and the end portion protrudes towards the facing direction of the second surface through the expansion hole. When the brush bundle cleans the optical pickup head, the inner edge of the embedded fine hole on the first surface is used as a pivot point to bend the brush bundle into the expansion hole, thus reducing the resistance and wiping damage on the optical pickup head and the planar shifting of the cleaning disk.

  • Patent number: 6836922
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning head of pin-contact memory card slot mainly includes a base and a sheeted cleaning element. The base is provided at a front end surface with a recess, and the cleaning element is attached to the base so as to shield the front recess. When the base is plugged in a pin-contact memory card slot just like a memory card, contact pins provided in the head of the memory card slot pierce through the cleaning element attached to the front end of the base to locate in the front recess. The cleaning element is in contact with and thereby wipes clean outer surfaces of the contact pins when the latter pierce through the cleaning element.

  • Publication number: 20040216568
Abstract: A method of destroying signals stored on a compact disk includes the step of destroying a Start Lead In (SLD) area on a compact disk to ruin lead-in signals recorded on the SLD, such that all other data stored on the compact disk cannot be read. Undesirable disclosure of the data stored on the compact disk is effectively prevented when the compact disk is discarded after the SLD is destroyed.

  • Patent number: 6722240
Abstract: A device for destroying signals stored on compact disk includes a base, a punching pin, and a push lever. The base has a top stub for engaging with a central hole of a compact disk positioned on the base, a through hole corresponding to a Start Lead In (SLD) area on the compact disk, and an L-shaped arm portion holding a spring mechanism. The punching pin is vertically movably mounted in the spring mechanism and aligned with the SLD area, and the push lever is pivotally connected at an end to one side of the arm portion for pushing against an upper end of the punching pin. When the push lever is pivotally pushed downward, the punching pin is driven downward to punch a hole on the SLD area and ruin lead-in signals recorded thereon, preventing data stored on the compact disk from being read and disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6717900
Abstract: An integrated compact disc cleaning and labeling device mainly includes pivotally connected top and bottom covers, a turning plate rotatably fitted in the top cover, a CD cleaner rotatably mounted to one side of the turning plate, a sleeve barrel vertically slidably received in a barrel portion of the bottom cover, and a return spring mounted between the bottom cover and the sleeve barrel. The bottom cover includes an annular seat surrounding the barrel portion for supporting a label thereon. When a compact disc is removably supported on a flat top of the sleeve barrel with a print side facing downward and the top cover is closed onto the bottom cover, the label is attached to the print side of the compact disc. Meanwhile, the CD cleaner could be rotated to effectively clean a signal side of the compact disc and ensure a firm attachment of the label to the compact disc.

  • Patent number: 6441996
Abstract: A device for cleaning the magnetic head of a disk drive mainly formed from a lower plate having a notch at a front end thereof, an upper plate closed to the lower plate and having an opening at a front end thereof corresponding to the notch of the lower plate, a cleaning element disposed in the opening of the upper plate, and a shutter closing the opening of the upper plate to hold the cleaning element in place. A reflex induction element is mounted in the device on the lower plate. When the device is inserted into a disk drive, the magnetic head of the disk drive is induced by the reflex induction element to move outward and contact with the cleaning element via the notch and the opening. Dust and impurities on the magnetic head are therefore removed by the cleaning element.
