Abstract: Disclosed is a method and a digital broadcasting system for transmitting and receiving an Electronic Service Guide (ESG). When there are ESG fragments to be transmitted through a communication network among ESG fragments included in ESG data, a digital broadcast transmitter generates an ESG data session such that the ESG data session may include route information through the communication network of the relevant ESG fragments. Then, the digital broadcast transmitter transmits the generated ESG data session to a broadcast receiving terminal, which obtains the route information through the communication network of the relevant ESG fragments. Accordingly, a user can more easily and conveniently receive the ESG data by using the route information through the communication network obtained by the broadcast receiving terminal.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing mobile broadcasting services through a communication network and a broadcast network, wherein a mobile terminal receives and stores Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) access address through an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) bootstrap File deLivery over Unidirectional Transport (FLUTE) session. The GMT access address is included in the ESG bootstrap FLUTE session when transmitted. The mobile terminal requests the GMT from the communication network using the GMT access address, receives the GMT from the communication network, and stores and sets the GMT.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a prismatic battery having an electrode assembly mounted in a prismatic battery case, wherein an electrolyte injection hole formed in a base plate mounted to an open upper end of the battery case is constructed such that an inside upper end of the electrolyte injection hole is formed in a downward taper (incline) structure, and a metal ball is forcibly inserted into the electrolyte injection hole such that the metal ball is plastically deformed to seal the electrolyte injection hole. The prismatic battery according to the present invention provides high coupling force between the metal ball and the electrolyte injection hole due to the plastic deformation and forced insertion of the metal ball and high sealability of the electrolyte injection hole. Also, the formation of a groove at the upper end of the forcibly inserted metal ball and the generation of cracks at the interface between the metal ball and the inside surface of the electrolyte injection hole are effectively prevented.

Abstract: A method of providing a broadcast data service in a Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) system and a system therefore is provided. The system includes a broadcast service providing server for inserting at least one of application type information and application execution information into an acquisition fragment of an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) and transmitting the ESG, and a broadcast receiving terminal for receiving the ESG and determining the application type information and application execution information contained in the acquisition fragment when the broadcast data service is provided.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for efficiently receiving Electronic Service Guide (ESG) data for a Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) broadcast service in a DVB-H reception terminal. When ESG data to which session partitioning rules are applied is received in a multiple-stream mode, session-by-session rules are detected. On the basis of the rules, sessions in which actual ESG data is carried are classified by roles required to provide the broadcast service. The associated ESG data from the sessions is acquired and stored. Since ESG data can be efficiently received by providing detailed guidelines for receiving the ESG data based on a session partitioning rule, a reception scheme of the DVB-H reception terminal can be significantly improved.

Abstract: A digital video broadcasting system, digital video broadcasting terminal, and method for providing file information in a file download service are provided. To this end, the digital broadcasting system includes a broadcasting server for transmitting an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) comprising a schedule event fragment wherein, if files that provide the file download service comprise a file set generated by grouping at least one file, the schedule event fragment comprises the information about files included in the file set, and a terminal for receiving the ESG, for evaluating the schedule event fragment of the ESG upon receipt of a request for downloadable file information, and for evaluating the information about the files included in the file set and displaying the information if the schedule event fragment comprises the information about the file set.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for configuring partial broadcasting guide information in a digital broadcasting system is disclosed. The apparatus includes a terminal and a broadcasting service providing server. The terminal transmits a connection request and a partial broadcasting guide information delivery request. The broadcasting service providing server responds to the connection request, performs user authentication using a password received from the terminal upon receipt of the partial broadcasting guide information delivery request, performs broadcasting guide information filtering in order to acquire partial broadcasting guide information if the user authentication is successful, and provides the partial broadcasting guide information to the terminal.

Abstract: A method and system can transmit notification data regarding service/system change occurrence or urgent notification to a terminal for receiving a broadcast service in a Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) broadcast service. The notification data can be transmitted to the terminal through Electronic Service Guide (ESG) data.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and a method for efficiently dividing a session into several sessions to forward the classified sessions during the transmission of ESG data in a DVB-H broadcasting service. For this, when there is a large amount of the ESG data, sessions during which an actual ESG data is carried are assigned suitable roles needed to perform a broadcasting service, and are then forwarded. On this, a variation of important information of a channel is specified as a reconfiguration session, which is then able to be transmitted. A terminal receives the reconfiguration session to acquire information to be varied, and previously prepares for the variation of the service. With this, since the terminal can gain access to a required ESG data session optionally as occasion demands, the effectiveness of a data receiving scheme of the terminal is greatly improved and service interruption is minimized.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for transmitting differentiated available broadcasting guide information to users based on user information are provided. The method includes connecting to the mobile terminal through a bi-directional channel in response to a request from the mobile terminal, determining if a request for available service guide information from the mobile terminal has been received through the bi-directional channel, if a request for available service guide information from the mobile terminal has been received, generating available service guide information by selecting only information to be provided to a user of the mobile terminal from the entire service guide information based on user information, and transmitting the available service guide information to the mobile terminal.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and a method for providing a terminal with a notification message reporting changes of a system and of a service in the middle of a Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) broadcasting service. The system inserts channel information related to the transmission of the notification message into Electronic Service Guide (ESG) service fragment or ESG acquisition fragment, then transmits the inserted channel information, or specifies a notification session for a session to transmit the session. In this manner, the channel information related to the notification message can be transmitted to a terminal through an ESG, and the terminal acquires the channel information related to the notification message from the received ESG to receive the notification message by using the channel information.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for efficiently providing Electric Service Guide (ESG) data in a Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) system. There is presented a method for dividing ESG data into basic data and additional data and for separately providing the data, wherein the basic data is necessary to provide a DVB-H broadcasting service. To separately provide the basic data from the additional data, a service provider forwards, during a basic profile session, only the basic data necessary to provide a broadcasting service, and separately forwards additional data during an advanced profile session including additional and high-grade data. Then, a terminal determines if a profiling is set up. If the profiling is set up, the terminal gets access to the basic profile session to acquire the basic data, and deals with the advanced profile session as a background job.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for providing a similar broadcasting service in a DVB-H system. The method includes: configuring and broadcasting Electric Service Guide (ESG) data including service linking information in which a DVB-H transmission server including data and access information about at least one linked service set in a certain DVB-H service; and receiving and storing the ESG data by a DVB-H reception terminal, detecting service linking information corresponding to a DVB-H service during reception from the ESG data if a reception intensity of signals is less than a preset reference value during reception of the DVB-H service, stopping reception of the DVB-H service being currently received, and receiving a linked service included in the service linking information with reference to the detected service linking information.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and a system for broadcasting an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) for digital broadcasting, which includes predetermined change information, when important information of the ESG is changed in a digital video broadcasting system. A digital broadcasting apparatus broadcasts an ESG that includes current information data and predetermined change information through a broadcasting communication network. A digital broadcasting reception terminal receives and stores the broadcasted ESG, provides a digital broadcast service based on the current information data of the ESG and provides a digital broadcast service based on the stored predetermined change information data after a prescheduled ESG change time point.

Abstract: In a system and method for providing digital broadcasting program information, a broadcasting information service provider receives EPG data and user-desired broadcasting program information, and extracts the broadcasting information of the digital broadcasting program corresponding to the desired broadcasting program information. The service provider transmits a message including the extracted information to existing subscribers in accordance with each subscriber's information. The subscribers' terminal extracts broadcasting information from the message. Ultimately, a user can easily obtain the information on his/her own desired broadcasting programs, to watch the program or make a setting reservation.

Abstract: A preset recording method through service linking according to movement from a first broadcasting area to a second broadcasting area in a terrestrial DMB terminal is provided. A preset recording for a predetermined broadcast program is checked to see if a current time is equal to a recording start time based on the specified preset recording; if so, extracting service linking information for the predetermined broadcast program; displaying that the DMB terminal has moved from the first broadcasting service area for the preset recording when the extracted service linking information corresponds to hard linking information, and recording a broadcasting program according to the hard linking information; and if they correspond, displaying that the DMB terminal has moved from the first broadcasting service area for the preset recording, and providing a list of broadcasting programs according to the soft linking information to enable a user to reset a preset recording function.

Abstract: A method is provided for a terrestrial DMB system to form EPG information that includes advertisement information, and XML-based schemas are defined and used for this purpose. Specifically, existing XML schemas regarding ensemble information, service information and program information have inserted therein the newly defined XML-based schemas so that provided advertising information can be displayed whenever EPG information is displayed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for indicating whether to provide supplementary services through EPG information in a terrestrial DMB system. In this method, a DMB terminal of the terrestrial DMB system receives DMB broadcast data, and extracts the EPG information from the DMB broadcast data. The extracted EPG information is sorted according to service formats of an XML schema for providing the EPG information. Supplementary service information relating to a corresponding program is extracted from the sorted EPG information by means of a program format of the XML schema, and the extracted supplementary service information is stored together with the EPG information. The supplementary service information is provided together with program information of the corresponding program when the EPG information is displayed.
