    Abstract: A data receiving device may include a dummy stage block. The dummy stage block may include m dummy stages, wherein m is a natural number greater than or equal to two. Each of the m dummy stages may be configured to remove inter-symbol interference (ISI) from a dummy input signal using dummy coefficient information to generate a dummy output signal free of the ISI. Each of the m dummy stages may be further configured to output the dummy output signal. A normal stage block may include n normal stages, wherein n is a natural number greater than or equal to two. Each of the n normal stages may be configured to remove ISI from an input signal using coefficient information to generate an output signal free of the ISI and may be further configured to output the output signal.

Each fixing band includes a band body which is made of rubber, fabric or plastic and extends a predetermined length in one direction, and a locking protrusion provided on each of opposite ends of the band body. The locking protrusion has a structure corresponding to a related one of the band locking depressions. The locking protrusions of the fixing bands are inserted into the corresponding band locking depressions, thus fastening the elements including the front cover and the rear cover together.

A packet decoding method of the present invention includes measuring Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNRs) of individual packets within a slot, determining a decoding order of the packets according to the SNRs, and decoding the packets in the decoding order. The decoding method and apparatus of a digital broadcast system according to the present invention performs decoding on the packets having the highest channel estimation performance first with reduced number of decoding iterations and reallocates the saved number of decoding iterations to remaining packets having relatively low channel estimation performance, thereby improving the decoding performance of the received packets.

The receiving method for combining the HARQ data includes predicting a maximum size of currently receivable data, converting HARQ data received from a transmitting end into Log Likelihood Ratio (LLR) information, determining whether the received HARQ data is retransmitted data, if the determination result shows that the HARQ data is not the retransmitted data, determining whether the converted LLR information is compressed according to the predicted maximum data size, and storing the converted LLR information in a memory according to the determination result on whether compression is necessary.
