  • Publication number: 20070290960
Abstract: A light source driving circuit and method is provided. The light source driving circuit includes a light source for outputting light, a light receiving unit for detecting a portion of the light output from the light source, a switching unit for controlling the supply of a source voltage according to an operation control signal, a constant current source for supplying a current corresponding to a threshold current to the light source according to the control of the switching unit, and an automatic power controller for controlling a driving current of the light source in response to an external modulation signal. Accordingly, by supplying a current corresponding to a threshold current of a green laser by means of a switching operation according to an operation control signal for a set time before a modulation signal of the green laser is input, a turn-on delay of the green laser can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20070280314
Abstract: An integrated circuit is provided for driving a light source. The light source outputs light. A light receiver receives part of the light output from the light source. In response to a detection current from the light receiver, an automatic power controller adjusts an operating current of the light source. A power converter efficiently supplies power from a power supply to the light source. A modulation signal input unit inputs a modulation signal for modulation of light output power. This circuit structure performs a control operation for constantly maintaining the intensity of light even in a variation in an ambient temperature or deterioration in the light source and also reduces power consumption in the integrated circuit for driving the light source.

  • Publication number: 20070252806
Abstract: A drive structure is provided for a sequential Red-Green-Blue (RGB) display. One light receiving means receives part of light output from R, G, and B light sources and performs conversion to a current signal. Each light source driver performs a control operation for maintaining the light intensity of each light source substantially constant by adjusting an amount of operating current applied thereto according to the magnitude of a feedback current provided from the light receiving means. Light is sequentially emitted by the light sources and received by the light monitoring device in response to input R, G, and B modulation signals.

  • Publication number: 20070242229
Abstract: An apparatus and method for blocking laser beams using a human body sensor in an image projector includes the steps of: monitoring, using the human body sensor, in a projected direction in which the image projector projects on a screen laser beams corresponding to a predetermined image; when an obstacle is sensed on the screen of the projected direction, measuring a temperature value of the obstacle by absorbing infrared (IR) rays emitted by the obstacle; comparing the measured temperature value of the obstacle to a pre-set temperature range; and if the measured temperature value of the obstacle is within the pre-set temperature range, blocking the laser beams corresponding to the predetermined image by stopping driving the image projector.

  • Publication number: 20070245396
Abstract: A method of controlling storage of a data broadcast application and broadcast receiver processing the same are disclosed. A method of controlling a data broadcast application includes receiving an application of data broadcasting, deciding whether a memory of a broadcast receiver is in a status capable of storing the received application using at least one of information for an overall size of the memory of the broadcast receiver and information for an empty size of the memory of the broadcast receiver, and if the memory of a broadcast receiver is in the status capable of storing the received application, storing the received application in the memory of the broadcast receiver.

  • Publication number: 20060120732
Abstract: Disclosed is an optical receiver for receiving burst mode signals. In a first embodiment, AGC voltage is applied to a continuous mode TIA having an AGC function, so that the AGC function is stopped and a gain of the TIA is fixed to a constant. In a second embodiment, a continuous mode TIA capable of adjusting an AGC time by using an external condenser is used. Accordingly, the TIA commonly used in a continuous mode is utilized in a burst mode operation, so that the construction of the optical receiver can be simplified and cost can be saved.
