  • Patent number: 9643701
Abstract: A folding bowsprit permits deployment of sails from a point forward of the bow on sailing vessels. The folding function allows the sprit to rotate around an axis at ninety degrees to the vessels centerline and permits the end of the sprit to move vertically up or down. This unique ability to fold facilitates: compact stowage when not in use and reduces the overall length of the vessel; adjustment of tack position vertically while sailing; and safer and simpler sail handling by accessing the tack point of said sprit within the deck footprint while sailing.

  • Patent number: 6769317
Abstract: A core sampling apparatus is comprised of a tubular punch, a storage container, and a press. The punch is comprised of a plurality of generally parallel metal sample tubes for being forced into a ground material. The storage container is comprised of a plurality of parallel storage tubes, a cap, and a lock nut. The filled punch is pushed into the storage tubes for encapsulation, and cap is secured against the open end of the storage container by the lock nut. The material samples are ejected from the storage container with an extraction tool with prongs attached to the press. Prongs on the extraction tool are inserted into the punch through breakable ends of the storage tubes, and the material samples are pushed out through breakable ends of the cap by the prongs into a collection vial.

  • Patent number: 5392743
Abstract: A rotary valve which may be axially adjusted for varying an open duration of the valve. The device includes a rotary valve having a substantially wedge shaped, contoured aperture which allows passage of a combustion mixture through an intake port and into the combustion chamber of an engine during rotation of the valve. The rotary valve is slidably positioned upon a splined shaft which both rotates and permits axial movement of the valve, with such axial motion aligning various portions of the contoured aperture with the intake port to effect a controlled variance of the duration of time the valve permits flow through the port.

  • Patent number: 5069177
Abstract: An apparatus arranged for directing a pressurized flow of lubricating oil into internal combustion engines oil galley system prior to operation of the engine to enhance longevity and minimize premature wear of the engine and other mechanisms utilizing a pressure feed lubricating system. The apparatus includes an accumulator reservoir of compact organization including an upper pressurized chamber separated from a lower lubrication reservoir chamber by a central flexible membrane. A solenoid valve is in fluid communication with the reservoir and the interal combustion engine oil galley system to selectively direct pressurized lubricating oil into the engine.
