  • Patent number: 8611912
Abstract: A bandwidth configuration method includes: A terminal acquires that a narrow bandwidth mode is used at a network side by a downlink transmission signal and/or an uplink transmission signal; and the terminal configures a receiving bandwidth and/or a transmitting bandwidth, where the receiving bandwidth and/or the transmitting bandwidth corresponds to the narrow bandwidth mode at the network side. The terminal side can acquire whether the network side uses the narrow bandwidth technology, and automatically adjust a bandwidth of a corresponding channel at the terminal side when the network side uses the narrow bandwidth technology, so that intra-system performance loss and inter-system interference that are caused by different bandwidth modes between the terminal side and the network side are avoided, thus improving performance of a communication system.

  • Publication number: 20130307867
Abstract: A halftone image generation method used in a system including a quantizer, a subtracter, a post-dithering module and an adder for generating a halftone image is disclosed. First, an original image including original pixels having original pixel values is received by the quantizer and a quantized image including quantized pixels having quantized pixel values according to a predetermined threshold is generated by the quantizer. The quantized pixel values from the original pixel values are subtracted by the subtracter so as to generate quantization error values. A post-dithering process is performed by the post-dithering module to generate dither values by using the quantization error values. The quantized pixel values of the quantized image are added to the dither values by the adder. Finally, the halftone image including halftone pixels having halftone pixel values is generated.

  • Patent number: 8588310
Abstract: A method for managing delivery of encoded bits to a decoder is disclosed. In the method, a number of bits associated with a variable system delay is determined. The variable system delay is a time interval between each of a plurality of frames being encoded and decoded and is measured with respect to a current time for each of the plurality of frames. A number of bits in an encoder buffer for an encoder is determined. A number of bits in a decoder buffer for a decoder configured to receive encoded bits from the encoder is determined based on the bits associated with the variable system delay and the bits in the encoder buffer. Delivery of the encoded bits to the decoder is managed based on the number of bits determined to be in the decoder buffer.

  • Patent number: 8437698
Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for estimating Time of Arrival (“TOA”). The method includes: performing channel estimation according to a Normal Burst (“NB”) free of interference and a local training sequence and generating a channel estimate, performing TOA estimation according to the channel estimate, and adjusting a synchronization position of the current NB according to a TOA estimation result. Interference to signals is cancelled before the TOA estimation, thus overcoming energy estimate deviation arising from interference in a strongly interfering radio environment, as occurs in the prior art, and preventing the impact on the TOA estimation. The disclosed methods and apparatus provide for more accurate energy estimates in a strongly interfering radio environment. The technical solution under the present invention does not require adjustment of the method of adjusting the search window.

  • Publication number: 20130038622
Abstract: A method for compensating images, applied to an e-paper display where pixels are arranged as a pixel array displaying N-level grayscale images. Standard images from a first standard image to an N-th standard image which respectively correspond to a first-level grayscale value to the N-th-level grayscale value are provided. The e-paper display respectively displays the standard images. Actual grayscale values of each pixel of the e-paper display, from a first actual grayscale value corresponding to the first standard image to the N-th actual grayscale value corresponding to the N-th standard image, are obtained. Each m-th actual grayscale value is compared with an m-th-level grayscale value to generate an m-th compensating matrix, wherein m is a positive integer from 1 to N. Therefore, compensating matrices from a first compensating matrix to an N-th compensating matrix are generated and used to compensate an input image of the e-paper display.
