Abstract: A device for preventing ants from being accessible to food in a container which has an open top and a first engaging portion located at an underside of the container, and a base which has a wall extending from a board. A second engaging portion is located at a top surface of the board. An annular flange extends from the top surface of the board of the base and an outer periphery of the container is engaged with an inner periphery of the annular flange. The first engaging portion is engaged with the second engaging portion, and liquid is filled in the base around the container.
