  • Publication number: 20250261227
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive one or more control messages from a network entity that include a sub-band index and a parameter associated with a quantity of random access (RA) occasions. The UE may transmit an RA message to the network entity via an RA occasion of a specific sub-band based on the sub-band index and the parameter. The UE may receive, from the network entity, a random access response (RAR) message that is associated with the index of the sub-band, the RA occasion, or both. In some examples, the RAR message may be associated with a sub-band based on including the sub-band index, the parameter, or both in one or more portions of the RAR message.

  • Patent number: 12379449
Abstract: Techniques for reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted calibration for timing errors in wireless nodes may comprise obtaining a set of wireless reference signal measurements comprising: first, second, third, and fourth measurements of reference signals traveling between the mobile device, a first wireless node, and a second wireless node, wherein a portion of the reference signals are reflected by the RIS while traveling between the mobile device and the first or second wireless node. A differential value comprising a difference between the third measurement and the fourth measurement is also obtained. Determining a position estimate of the mobile device may then be performed, based at least in part on the set of wireless reference signal measurements, the differential value, and a respective location of each of the first wireless node, the second wireless node, and the RIS.

  • Patent number: 12363656
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A synchronization signal block (SSB) may be dynamically scheduled within an operating bandwidth of a user equipment (UE), where the operating bandwidth of the UE is outside of a frequency resource in which a cell defining SSB (CD-SSB) is scheduled. For example, a UE may operate in a reduced capability mode or an enhanced reduced capability mode where the UE may operate in a narrower bandwidth than the serving cell bandwidth. Control signaling may dynamically configure an SSB for the UE within the operating bandwidth of the UE. The UE may monitor for the non-cell defining SSB (NCD-SSB) and skip monitoring for the CD-SSB based on the dynamically configured NCD-SSB. For example, a reduced capability UE or an enhanced reduced capability UE may monitor for the NCD-SSB without performing RF retuning between receiving the control signaling and monitoring for the NCD-SSB.

  • Patent number: 12355529
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a capability report to a base station indicating a triggering offset. The base station may configure the UE with one or more channel state information (CSI) measurement resources and send downlink control information (DCI) that triggers an aperiodic CSI report for some of the CSI measurement resources. The UE may report CSI by measuring the CSI resources after the triggering offset. In some cases, CSI reporting related to the different codebook types (e. g., Type I, Type II) may be modified, where after identifying a type of codebook and determining which type of codebook to process (e. g., based on a number of CSI processing units), the UE may identify a priority associated with different CSI reports. The UE may be configured with various parameters that relax or modify the processing of Type II CSI reports.

  • Patent number: 12356444
Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to configuring and selecting preamble and payload occasions for performing two-step random access procedures. Configurations on preamble occasions, payload occasions, association pattern between the occasions and synchronization signal block (SSB) beams, and the rules for selecting preamble and payload occasions for random access message transmission can be determined by the network and signaled to user equipment (UE). Based on the configurations and rules, UE can measure the link level quality and select possible preamble and payload occasions for one or more SSB beams achieving a threshold signal quality. Sets of one or more preamble occasions and one or more payload occasions can be further determined based on whether the preamble and payload occasion(s) can achieve a threshold transmission latency. The one or more preamble occasions and one or more payload occasions can be used to transmit random access messages in the two-step random access procedure.

  • Publication number: 20250220728
Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to the timing arrangements and the transmission gap configurations in 2-step random access channel (RACH) procedures to improve system latency and reliability of a RACH HARQ process are provided. The UE transmits a first message including a random access preamble and a payload, and then monitors for a second message in response to the first message during a random access response (RAR) window. In response to determining that no second message is received by the UE from the BS or a back off indicator is received within the RAR window, the UE re-transmits the preamble and payload of the first message after the RAR window lapses. In response to determining if the second message received within the RAR window carries a FallbackRAR or SuccessRAR, the UE then determines to re-transmit the payload of the first message based on the FallbackRAR, or to transmit an acknowledgement message based on the SuccessRAR.
