  • Patent number: 11788562
Abstract: The subject invention pertains to a pneumatic, hydraulic, or otherwise inflatable or pressurized artificial muscle. Also provided are methods for making, controlling, and using such a muscle useful for prostheses, movement aids, or wearable robots to assist the movement of impaired subjects or to improve the function of healthy subjects. Muscles can be made by densely winding tension wires around pressurized expandable tubes having one or more specific geometric shapes removed from the tube cross section. The curve of output characteristics such as output force vs. contraction ratio can be adjustable by changing parameters of the sectional view of the tube. The appropriate shape of tube and related output characteristics can be selected according to application area or body part to be assisted to achieve the most flexible and optimal design for one or more muscle groups.

Abstract: A fan with increased heat-removing ability and reduced noise in operation includes a hub, a baffle, a first blade layer, and a second blade layer. The first blade layer includes a plurality of first blades, and the second blade layer includes a plurality of second blades. An orthogonal projection of each of the plurality of first blades on the baffle is located between orthogonal projections of adjacent two of the plurality of second blades on the baffle. A length of the plurality of first blades is greater or less than a length of the plurality of second blades to avoid any resonance. An electronic device including the fan is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11416067
Abstract: In general, this disclosure describes a suspend mode feature for artificial reality systems and, more specifically, system configurations and techniques for generating a suspend mode environment during execution of an artificial reality application, and presenting and controlling user interface (UI) elements within the suspend mode environment. The suspend mode feature enables a user interacting with one or more other users (or one or more avatars corresponding to the one or more other users) within an artificial reality (AR) environment to suspend the AR environment from the user's perspective. While in the suspend mode environment, the user is able to view and select the other users from the AR environment. For example, the user may select another user to friend, message, mute, block, or report that user from the suspend mode environment.
