  • Publication number: 20080106529
Abstract: Methods for processing a driver in a portable electronic device are provided. The driver drives the portable electronic device and is stored in a storage unit thereof. The portable electronic device is first coupled to a computer system. The storage unit turns to a storage device of the computer system after coupling. A label of the storage device is then detected. The label specifies the state of the driver. The driver is processed according to the label.

  • Publication number: 20080095457
Abstract: Image vibration detection methods and systems for use in a digital camera. First, a photographing process is performed to sense images. At least one first window value of a first sensed image corresponding to an absolute region is calculated, and at least one second window value of a second sensed image corresponding to the absolute region is calculated. A first focus offset is determined according to the at least one first window value and the at least one second window value. It is determined whether the first focus offset exceeds a threshold. If so, a prompt message representing an image vibration occurred during the photographing process is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20080062279
Abstract: Image processing methods and systems for use in digital cameras. An image is captured. A region image of a specific region in the image is copied. Data information is embedded on the specific region of the image. The region image, a start address of the specific region in the image, and an offset region corresponding to the region image are recorded to an image file. The image with the data information and an offset corresponding to the image are recorded to the image file. The image without the data information can be recovered by composing the region image to the image.

  • Publication number: 20080056703
Abstract: Image capture methods and systems. When a shutter of a camera is pressed, a diaphragm of the camera is set to a maximum diaphragm, and an image is photographed accordingly. The diaphragm is switched to a next level diaphragm of the maximum diaphragm, and another image is photographed accordingly. The switch of the diaphragm and the photographing is repeated until the diaphragm is the minimum diaphragm.

  • Publication number: 20050225648
Abstract: A specific image extraction method implemented in an image capture device. First, a second image and a first image containing a subject are captured. Next, a third image is obtained by evaluating the difference between the first image and second image. A fourth image is acquired by performing edge enhancement on the third image. A contour is drawn from the fourth image, and adjusted. The subject is extracted based on the adjusted contour. The extracted subject is displayed using an application executed in the image pickup device.

  • Publication number: 20050183080
Abstract: A portable electronic apparatus and a method of dynamic data processing. The portable electronic apparatus has a processing unit, a random access memory (RAM) and a read-only memory (ROM). The ROM has a compressed data storage region and a dynamic data storage region, and compressed program data is stored in the compressed data storage region. The processing unit retrieves the compressed program data from the compressed data storage region and decompresses the compressed program data to obtain a decompressed program data. The decompressed program data is stored in the RAM during decompression. When the decompression is complete, the decompressed program data stored in the RAM is retrieved and written to the dynamic data storage region of the ROM.

  • Publication number: 20050041884
Abstract: An apparatus for sectioning digital images dynamically in a digital image capture device. The inventive apparatus includes an image capture unit, an image decoding unit, an image processing unit, a section production unit, and a game execution unit. The image capture unit obtains original image data. The image decoding unit decodes the original image data as decoded image data. The image processing unit processes the decoded image data to obtain initial image section data. The section production unit converts the initial image section data to produce final image section data. The game execution displays the final image section data on an image display device for executing a game corresponding to the final image section data.

  • Publication number: 20050010914
Abstract: A method for upgrading firmware by a volume label applicable to a computer system and an apparatus connected thereto, the apparatus comprises at least a memory. First, a button is pressed to change the volume label to an update state. Then, the computer system sends a new upgrade file to the memory according to the update state. Then, the volume label is changed from the update state to a burn state. Thereafter, the apparatus sends the new upgrade file from the memory to a synchronous dynamic RAM. Then, the apparatus reads an upgrade software program from an RAM. Finally, the upgrade software program writes the new upgrade file to a flash memory.

  • Publication number: 20040228613
Abstract: An editing and display controller used in a portable digital image capture device allows users to edit image files and to perform further displaying. Each of the image files comprises a comment column and a corresponding image. The device comprises an on screen display controller, an editing controller, and a display controller. The editing controller comprises an input interface and a compiling module. The input interface provides input options of a plurality of image and character editing functions and permits the users to edit the corresponding image and character in at least one target image file. The compiling module compiles the selected inputs received by the input interface as a corresponding control code and records the control code in the comment column of the target image file in a way that does not destroy the image of the target image file to achieve the non-destructive editing.
