Patent number: 8687866Abstract: An optical coherence tomography (OCT) image of the anterior chamber of an eye is processed to determine automatically a location in the image corresponding to Schwalbe's line. First, the method finds the location of the corneal endothelium. Then the method fits a model to the detected corneal endothelium. Then the method determines the location of Schwalbe's line based on the relationship between the detected corneal endothelium and the fitted model, such as where the detected corneal endothelium diverges most from the fitted model. The Schwalbe's line is used to obtain a numerical measure of the anterior chamber angle of the eye. The method can be used in a process for screening patients for glaucoma. In the case of patients found to be suffering from glaucoma, treatment can be performed.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2012Date of Patent: April 1, 2014Assignees: Nanyang Technological University, Tan Tock Seng Hospital PTE Ltd., Singapore Health Services Pte LtdInventors: Pina Marziliano, Jing Tian, Hon-Tym Wong, Baskaran Mani, Tin Aung

Patent number: 8346493Abstract: A method for deploying at least one climate sensor in an indoor space includes: several candidate deploy points in the indoor space are obtained. Climate properties at the candidate deploy points are obtained. Deploy-point-number limit is obtained. Available deploy point sets, which conform to the deploy-point-number limit, are generated according to the candidate deploy points. Climate-property differences of the available deploy point sets are calculated according to the climate properties at the candidate deploy points. The climate-property differences of the available deploy point sets are differences between the climate properties at the available deploy point sets and those at the candidate deploy points. A target deploy point set, climate-property difference of which is the least among those of the available deploy point sets, is selected from the available deploy point sets. At least one first climate sensor is deployed at the target deploy point of the target deploy point set.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2009Date of Patent: January 1, 2013Assignee: Institute for Information IndustryInventor: Jing-Tian Sung

Publication number: 20110160082Abstract: The present invention relates generally to nucleobase polymer functionalizing reagents, to mobility-modified sequence-specific nucleobase polymers, to compositions comprising a plurality of mobility-modified sequence-specific nucleobase polymers, and to the use of such polymers and compositions in a variety of assays, such as, for example, for the detection of a plurality of selected nucleotide sequences within one or more target nucleic acids. The mobility-modifying polymers of the present invention include phosphoramidite reagents which can be joined to other mobility-modifying monomers and to sequence-specific oligonucleobase polymers via uncharged phosphate triester linkages. Addition of the mobility-modifying phosphoramidite reagents of the present invention to oligonucleobase polymers results in unexpectedly large effects the mobility of those modified oligonucleobase polymers, especially upon capillary electrophoresis in non-sieving media.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 19, 2011Publication date: June 30, 2011Applicant: LIFE TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATIONInventors: Sam L.
