Publication number: 20220206498Abstract: A system for lateral control in-path tracking of an autonomous vehicle includes a lateral controller. The lateral controller controls movement of the autonomous vehicle relative to a path and receives as an input a desired target. An outer control loop of the lateral controller includes a first controller generating an output based on the difference between the desired target and a current position of the autonomous vehicle. An inner control loop of the lateral controller includes a second controller receiving the generated output from the first controller. The inner control loop generates a sideslip angle and a yaw rate, wherein the sideslip angle and the yaw rate are returned to the second controller. The sideslip angle and the yaw rate are used to generate the relative yaw angle and lateral distance, which are returned to the first controller as the current position of the autonomous vehicle.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 26, 2021Publication date: June 30, 2022Inventor: Jingsheng Yu

Patent number: 8200406Abstract: A mechanism for reducing brake noise during braking of a vehicle. The mechanism includes controllers and methods that “hold” a currently applied braking torque rather than applying the operator-requested braking torque when a vehicle is traveling at a low speed and the operator-requested braking torque is within a predetermined range. The controllers and methods “release” the previously “held” braking torque and apply the operator-requested braking torque once the operator-requested braking torque is outside the predetermined range.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 2009Date of Patent: June 12, 2012Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Arthur Stephenson, Jingsheng Yu, Shawn Berry, Ed Schultz

Patent number: 6816799Abstract: A system and method for estimating an operating parameter of a vehicle such as the steering angle offset or body slip angle. The method includes providing a dynamic vehicle model which is valid when the yaw rate and slip angle of the vehicle are either constant or changing. The vehicle model is reformulated to allow for the direct estimation of the steering angle offset value and/or the body slip angle. Estimation of an operating parameter of the vehicle may also include the use of a model difference term which is defined by the difference between a value estimated using the model and a measured value. A method for filtering the steering angle offset value is also provided. The filtering method may utilize a variable filter coefficient which varies in response to changes in the dynamic behavior of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2003Date of Patent: November 9, 2004Assignee: Robert Bosch CorporationInventors: Jingsheng Yu, Christian Breuninger

Publication number: 20020172256Abstract: A method of determining the temperature of a hydraulic brake system of a motor vehicle is described, in which the temperature of the hydraulic pump is determined with the help of a model and by measuring the motor voltage (Um) and the power supply voltage after turning it on. The model has a state observer with which a temperature-dependent estimator is formed for the estimated temperature of the pump motor or the hydraulic pump. The estimator is determined at a defined time after turning on the power supply voltage, and the temperature of the hydraulic pump (1) is determined with the help of an empirical comparison table or curve. The estimated temperature or the change in temperature is used to correct or improve on the brake pressure control of the hydraulic brake system, in particular in the case of an anti-skid system (ABS) and/or an anti-spin control (ASC).Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2002Publication date: November 21, 2002Inventor: Jingsheng Yu
