Abstract: A Chinese text entry system with eye-tracking technique can be used for computer input of Chinese characters. The system is comprised of two main components: the Chinese pinyin software and the eye-tracking system. Chinese characters corresponding to pinyin input are selected from a list of candidate characters by selecting the proper character through eye-tracking identification and confirming the selection by pressing a readily accessible confirmation key. The Chinese pinyin software implements pinyin input at both the character and word level, choosing from multiple character or word homonyms as pinyin is entered. The system uses eye-tracking technology that is only used to identify the correct Chinese character, with the character selection and entry occurring when the confirmation key is pressed.

Abstract: A word pattern recognition system based on a virtual keyboard layout combines handwriting recognition with a virtual, graphical, or on-screen keyboard to provide a text input method with relative ease of use. The system allows the user to input text quickly with little or no visual attention from the user. The system supports a very large vocabulary of gesture templates in a lexicon, including practically all words needed for a particular user. In addition, the system utilizes various techniques and methods to achieve reliable recognition of a very large gesture vocabulary. Further, the system provides feedback and display methods to help the user effectively use and learn shorthand gestures for words. Word patterns are recognized independent of gesture scale and location. The present system uses language rules to recognize and connect suffixes with a preceding word, allowing users to break complex words into easily remembered segments.

Abstract: A system and method for collaborative handwriting input. An input hand-held computer captures, stores and redisplays ink information from a user and transfers the ink information to a recognition computer via a communication connection, which then recognizes it and outputs recognition result. A method is also employed in such a system for collaborative handwriting input. And in an embodiment, the system can comprise a recognition computer and a plurality of input hand-held computers.

Abstract: Provides a proxy server for loading advertisements in a Web page. An example embodiment includes: an image extractor for obtaining original image data from an original image file included in an original Web page; an image file generator for generating a new image file into which the original image data, display control parameters of the original image data, advertisement image data of an advertisement image, and display control parameters of the advertisement image are integrated, wherein the display control parameters of the original image and the display control parameters of every advertisement image are used to define how long the original image and corresponding advertisement image are displayed; and a Web page modifying device for replacing said original image file with said new image file in said Web page. A method of displaying a Web page, loading advertisements in a Web page, and an apparatus therefore are also provided.
