Publication number: 20240086362Abstract: A key-value store and a file system are integrated together to provide improved operations. The key-value store can include a log engine, a hash engine, a sorting engine, and a garbage collection manager. The features of the key-value store can be configured to reduce the number of I/O operations involving the file system, thereby improving read efficiency, reducing write latency, and reducing write amplification issues inherent in the combined key-value store and file system.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventors: Hao Wang, Jiaxin Ou, Sheng Qiu, Yi Wang, Zhengyu Yang, Yizheng Jiao, Jingwei Zhang, Jianyang Hu, Yang Liu, Ming Zhao, Hui Zhang, Kuankuan Guo, Huan Sun, Yinlin Zhang

Publication number: 20240070135Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for improved point querying of a database. The index values are separated from data and retained in cache memory to allow access without requiring a disk input/output (I/O) operation and thereby having less latency resulting from such disk I/O operations. The index values can be compressed using an algorithm such as Crit-Bit-Trie to allow storage of the index values in limited cache memory space. The index values can be selected for storage according to a least recently used approach when cache memory is insufficient to store all index values to maintain a hit rate for the cached portion and reduce the disk I/O operations.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2023Publication date: February 29, 2024Inventors: Jiaxin Ou, Jingwei Zhang, Hao Wang, Hui Zhang, Ming Zhao, Yi Wang, Zhengyu Yang

Patent number: 11747376Abstract: A photonic device and a continuous-wave THz signal generator using such photonic device. The photonic device includes an input waveguide arranged to receive input waves of at least two input frequencies and to generate photons at an output frequency associated with the at least two input frequencies; an output waveguide coupled to the input waveguide and arranged to collect the generated photons at the output frequency; wherein the output waveguide is further arranged to facilitate an amplification of the generated photons as the generated photons propagates along the output waveguide and arranged to output an amplified signal at the output frequency.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2021Date of Patent: September 5, 2023Assignee: City University of Hong KongInventors: Cheng Wang, Jingwei Yang

Patent number: 11183285Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, a computer program product, and a computer system for medication decision support. A computer generates one or more patient profiles detailing one or more patient health conditions and one or more medication profiles detailing one or more medication side effects. The computer then determines an association between the one or more patient health conditions and one or more medication side effects and quantifies the association as a conflict score. In addition, the computer determines whether the conflict score exceeds a threshold and, if so, the computer identifies and recommends an alternative medication having a lower conflict score.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 2017Date of Patent: November 23, 2021Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Fang Lu, Italo Buleje, Jingwei Yang, Piyush Madan, Rachita Chandra, Sharon M. Patent number: 11061905Abstract: Modularized data processing systems and methods for its use are provided. Processing a current job can reuse data generated for a previously processed job to the extent the two share parameter configurations. Similarly, outputs of processing modules generated during processing the previously processed job can be used as inputs to processing modules processing a current job, if the two jobs share some parameter configurations.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2017Date of Patent: July 13, 2021Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Jingwei Yang, Shilpa N.
