  • Publication number: 20160325481
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and device for detecting broken plastic strands of plastic extruder by heat. In this method, a detection strip is placed below the die exit of plastic extruder. The detection strip is made of a material that is the same as the product being produced by the plastic extruder or a material with similar melting performance as the product being produced. In the event of a broken strand during production, the broken strand will hang down and fall on said detection strip, where the residual heat in the strand can heat the detection strip to over its glass transition temperature and change it from glassy state to elastomeric state until it is pulled or molten to break. Once the break of the detection strip is detected, the alarm will be turned on. The detection device comprises a detection strip, a strip support, a contact detector(s) and a sound-light alarming device. One end of the strip support applies a pre-load upward or downward on the detection strip.

  • Patent number: 8971715
Abstract: An apparatus of transmitting messages from an electronic device and display it on a mobile device, and a method of doing the same are disclosed. An exemplifying electronic device has an encoder to encode the data and a drive to modulate the signals into temporal and spatial light patterns according to the transmitted message. The light signals are then emitted from a group of LEDs on the electronic device. A video camera on a mobile device captures the light signals in the form of temporal and spatial patterns. A software application decodes the message and displays the message on the mobile device screen.

  • Publication number: 20130104182
Abstract: The present invention relates to delivery of non-image data frames via a high-speed digital pixel cable using a main pixel channel of the cable to carry non-image data frames and using a side channel of the cable to indicate that particular data frames sent on the main pixel channel are to be treated as non-image data instead of pixel data. The non-image data may, for instance be edge blending, warping or color balance data. Alternatively, it could be a firmware update. The high-speed digital pixel cable could be a DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort-compatible cable. The side channel could be a DDC, CEC or custom channel. Further aspects of the technology disclosed are described in the accompanying specification, claims and figures.

  • Patent number: 7389744
Abstract: A system for tracking the laboratory animal position and movement in a walled enclosure or cage for observation and evaluation is disclosed. The system consists of a plate placed on the bottom of the cage whereon multiple electrodes are configured as column-row two-dimensional electrode array, an electronic circuit detecting and measuring the capacitance between said electrodes, and a microprocessor determining the animal's location. The electronic circuit repeatedly measures the capacitance between the electrodes in a sequential manner. The animal's location and movement is determined by detecting the changes in capacitance on said plate.

  • Patent number: 6928613
Abstract: A storyboard of video clips is divided into zones, or segments. The user selects a zone, and the invention presents a list of effects that are applicable to the selected zone. The user can select among the presented effects in order to apply the effect to the selected zone. Effects that are inapplicable to the selected zone are hidden from view and not displayed. Thus, the overall number of effects that are presented at any given time is reduced, and the process of selecting an appropriate effect is simplified and made easier for novice users.

  • Publication number: 20040095317
Abstract: A universal television and computer pointing control system is disclosed. The system is comprised of a handheld pointing device, a display control unit, and a command delivery unit. The system allows the user to simply point and click to control a computer or various home entertainment component devices remotely. Inside the handheld device, orientation sensors detect pointing direction. The pointing direction signals are transmitted to the display control unit, and a cursor (pointer) is drawn onto the screen indicating the pointer's location. By interpreting the pointing direction signals and the button activities, the display control unit issues a control signal to the command delivery unit. The command delivery unit then forwards the commands to the target device to execute the desired control function.

  • Patent number: 5977985
Abstract: An improved object-based image processing system and method which minimizes and improves predictability and control over regeneration and recalculation time when the user makes changes to operations. Image clips containing bitmaps of object results are stored to minimize repeated application of operations. Partial updates for modified operations are facilitated so that unnecessary regeneration of the entire region of operation is avoided. Greater user control is achieved by permitting the user to designate a temporary background image.
