  • Patent number: 11343587
Abstract: In one embodiment, a viewing behavior subsystem computes estimated viewership among target audiences at a person-level based on a household viewing logs and person-level data. A viewing behavior subsystem distributes the household viewing logs across buckets based on the sizes of the households and sets of person-level characteristics that are associated with the persons within the households. The viewing behavior subsystem generates a model for viewing behaviors associated with different sets of person-level characteristics based on the buckets. Subsequently, the viewing behavior subsystem estimates viewership among a target audience that is associated with one or more of the sets of person-level characteristics based on the model and census data.

Abstract: There are provided transaction proposal generation systems and methods. Such a system includes a hardware processor, a system memory, and a transaction proposal unit including a consumer-to-product matching module and a transaction analysis module stored in the system memory. The hardware processor is configured to execute the transaction proposal unit to receive a first data corresponding to a transactional history of each of several market participants, receive a second data corresponding to a demand, by each market participant, for each of a number of products, and transform the first data and the second data into a third data identifying a prospective consumer for at least one of the products. The transaction proposal unit can be further executed to determine terms for a transaction including the prospective consumer and the product(s), and generate a transaction proposal identifying the prospective consumer, the product(s), and the terms.

  • Patent number: 8958921
Abstract: A climate control system for a building includes air conditioning systems and ventilation (HVAC) systems. The system is controlled by determining sensible cooling and heating rates using temperature differences at inlets and outlets at evaporators, as well as moisture absorption, moisture desorption, ventilation influences, human activities, and condensation at the evaporator. Humidity differences and temperature differences are determined as driving forces for moisture absorption, desorption, and temperatures and humidities of interior fabrics. The differences are obtained from a thermal circuit model. A latent cooling rate is determined using the humidity differences. The model integrates a temperature model and a humidity model for jointly predicting temperatures and humidities for operating the HVAC systems using a mass transfer process.

  • Patent number: 8838304
Abstract: A method reduces the computation time for determining optimal run-curves for a specific travel time of a vehicle along a route between two locations. The computation is partitioned between pre-processing and real-time steps. A set of weights ? are generated, and run-curves for the weights are obtained and stored during the pre-processing. State transition matrices can also be determined and stored during the pre-processing. During real-time, a specific travel time is obtained. The travel time is used to interpolate the weight ? for the specific travel time from the stored weights. The memory can be updated for each solution for a specific travel time to dramatically reduce the time to optimize the run-curves.

  • Patent number: 8660723
Abstract: A method reduces the computational complexity for determining optimal run-curves for a specific travel time of a vehicle along a route between two locations, when travel time and speed limit requirements are subject to change. The determination is partitioned into preprocessing and real-time steps. A set of weights are generated, and run-curves for the weights are obtained and stored during the preprocessing. A state transition matrix is generated in the preprocessing step and updated partially in the real-time step only for a subspace of velocities and locations constrained by speed limits. The optimal weight for solving an objective function to obtain an optimal run-curve can be obtained by searching with an initial estimation of multiple weights, and interpolating from the relation between the travel time and the initial weights to obtain the optimal weight.

  • Publication number: 20130151013
Abstract: A method controls a heating, ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) system for a building. The system is modeled with a state space, wherein the state space includes a set of states and a corresponding action for each state, wherein the system changes from a current state to a next state based the current state, and a selected action. A set of samples is selected in the state space, and triangulated to descritize the state space into simplices, wherein each simplex has a set of nodes. For each state and a corresponding simplex, a value for each node is obtained, and then a trajectory of set-points of temperatures for the system is generated based on the values.

  • Patent number: 8156558
Abstract: Described is a mechanism for collectively evaluating security risks associated with loading an application. A hosting environment associated with loading the application invokes a trust manager to evaluate the security risks. The trust manager invokes a plurality of trust evaluators, where each trust evaluator is responsible for analyzing and assessing a different security risk. Upon completion of each security risk evaluation, results of those individual security risk evaluations are returned to the trust manager. The trust manager aggregates the variety of security risk evaluation results and makes a security determination based on the aggregated evaluation results. That determination may be to move forward with loading the application, to block the load of the application, or perhaps to prompt the user for a decision about whether to move forward with the load.

  • Patent number: 8122376
Abstract: Systems and methods for manipulating toolbar dimensions are provided. Each toolbar includes a number of toolbar components each having a first and second representation and the toolbar is associated with a reference value. As the toolbar dimensions are adjusted, if the reference value for the toolbar is between a first and second size thresholds, the toolbar is adjusted and displayed relative to the reference value while maintaining the relative position of the toolbar components displaying a first representation to each other. Alternatively, if the reference value for the toolbar is not between the first and second size thresholds, the toolbar is adjusted and displayed relative to the reference value while maintaining the relative position of the toolbar components displaying a second representation to each other.

  • Patent number: 7619628
Abstract: Methods and systems for processing digital image data utilizing vertically-oriented Effect graphs are provided. When processing digital image data utilizing Effect graphs, it is often necessary for certain Effects on the graph to render their outputs multiple times during a single rendering pass. To alleviate the exponential processing that such a scenario can cause, methods and systems for caching at least a portion of the digital image data being processed in image buffers associated with the output of one or more Effects in the Effect graph during processing are provided. Additionally provided are methods and systems for caching digital image data in image buffers associated with the output of one or more Effects across multiple processing passes of an Effect graph.
