    Abstract: A method of determining a fluid parameter includes receiving, by a processor and from a plurality of sensors coupled to a flexible tube, fluid information. The flexible tube includes a throat arranged in a first position with respect to a fixed end. The fluid information includes a strain or pressure at a first portion of the flexible tube and a strain or pressure at a second portion of the flexible tube. The method also includes determining a first fluid parameter of the fluid and transmitting, from the processor to a controller operationally coupled to the throat, second position information including a second position of the throat different than the first position. The method also includes receiving, with the throat in the second position, second fluid information and determining, based on the second fluid information, a second fluid parameter of the fluid.

    Abstract: An electrical submersible pumping system includes thrust bearings and radial bearings fabricated from a micro-grained polycrystalline diamond compact (“USPDC”) material that is ultra-strong; and where the USPDC is produced using a catalyst free process. In examples, all components of the bearings are formed from the ultra-strong USPDC material. Pads are in the bearings that have a contact surface, and the pads selectively tilt about a tilt member in response to variations in an opposing contact surface. The tilt members are attached to or otherwise associated with the pads, and are in contact with a resilient member that improves tilting response of the pads. The resilient members are encased in jackets that cover surfaces of the resilient members not in contact with the tilt members. The jackets are set in channels formed in structure of the bearings.

The magnetic driver and magnetic follower, or the stationary member and movable member, are separated by a gap containing at least a portion of the magnetically transparent wall. A prime mover is operatively coupled to the magnetic driver. A rod couples the magnetic follower or the movable member to the downhole pump. Movement of the rod with the magnetic follower or the movable member operates the pump.

    Abstract: An integrated system is disclosed to handle production of multiphase fluid consisting of oil, gas and water. The production stream is first separated into two streams: a liquid dominated stream (GVF<5% for example) and a gas dominated stream (GVF>95% for example). The separation can be done through shrouds, cylindrical cyclonic, gravity, in-line or the like separation techniques. The two streams are then routed separately to pumps which pump dissimilar fluids, such as a liquid pump and a gas compressor, and subsequently recombined. Both pumps are driven by a single motor shaft which includes an internal passageway associated with one of the pumps for reception of the fluid from the other pump, thereby providing better cooling and greater overall efficiency of all systems associated therewith. A method for providing artificial lift or pressure boosting of multiphase fluid is also disclosed.

A second sand accumulator may include a housing disposed in line with a wellbore tubular and an insert disposed inside the housing such that insert forms a continuous end-to-end seal with a section of the wellbore tubular. An inlet section of the insert has an inlet port configured to permit fluid flow such that a vortex flow forms in the inlet section. A method of using a sand accumulator includes introducing process fluid entrained with sand to the sand accumulator.

A second fiber optic cable extends axially along a second surface portion of the tubing and is operable to receive a resulting signal of the generated acoustic signal so that wellbore parameters proximate to the predetermined location can be determined. The second fiber optic cable is spaced apart from the first fiber optic cable and is operable to transmit data of the resulting signal to a receiver.
