  • Publication number: 20210281357
Abstract: An electronic device (such as an access point) that receives one or more block acknowledgments is described. This electronic device may transmit an extremely high-throughput (EHT) physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) to a recipient electronic device, where the EHT PPDU is transmitted in multiple non-contiguous sub-bands that are separated by a punctured sub-band. Moreover, the electronic may receive the one or more block acknowledgments from the recipient electronic device, where the one or more block acknowledgments exclude the punctured sub-band. • Patent number: 11108503
Abstract: A first communication device receives an aggregated data unit from a second communication device. The aggregated data unit aggregates (i) one or more sets of multiple data units, each set of multiple data units to be acknowledged by a respective block acknowledgement and (ii) one or more single data units, each single data unit to be acknowledged by a respective single acknowledgement. The first communication device generates a block acknowledgment frame that includes (i) block acknowledgement information to acknowledge the one or more sets of multiple data units, and (ii) single acknowledgment information to acknowledge the one or more single data units, where the block acknowledgement frame omits an indication that the block acknowledgement frame includes the single acknowledgement information. The first communication device causes the block acknowledgement frame to be transmitted to the second communication device.

  • Patent number: 11032237
Abstract: A communication device of a first wireless network determines that a first value of a first basic service set (BSS) color identifier is the same as a value of a second BSS color identifier corresponding to a neighboring second wireless network. In response, the communication device determines a second value of the first BSS color identifier. The communication device transmits one or more packets that each include i) an indication that the first BSS color identifier is changing, ii) the second value of the first BSS color identifier, and iii) a respective integer number of remaining beacon intervals corresponding to a start time when the second value of the first BSS color identifier will supersede the first value of the first BSS color identifier. Based on the start time, the communication device begins to use the second value of the first BSS color identifier with communications in the first wireless network.

  • Patent number: 10993243
Abstract: A method for communicating in a wireless local area network is disclosed herein. The AP sets an uplink target received signal strength information (RSSI) for all participating stations (STAs) and transmits the information to the STAs in a trigger frame. Specifically, the AP sets the uplink target RSSIs for each STA to be within a predetermined range of each other so that when the STAs transmit respective uplink frames, those frames are received at the AP at the set uplink target RSSI.

  • Publication number: 20210075542
Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for a PHY level operation that enables a transmitter and a receiver to select low-density parity check (LDPC) codewords that are HARQ retransmitted. The operations described herein provide for an increased reliability in detecting codewords at the physical (PHY) layer, as the codeword detection does not depend on detection of a media access control (MAC) protocol data unit (MPDU) start position and length. For example, the PHY layer may store failed codewords without instructions from the MAC layer. This providers for faster and simpler implementation of the PHY layer. Additionally, the operations described herein reduce overhead requirements as the MAC layer may stores a bit stream of correctly received codewords, which requires less the storage space required to store failed codewords. Furthermore, a feedback signal transmitted from a receiving device to a transmitting device may further reduce the number of retransmitted codewords.

  • Publication number: 20210076437
Abstract: Some embodiments include utilizing a multilink media access control (MAC) address structure to support multilink devices (MLDs) that can operate concurrently in more than one link such as extremely high throughput (EHT) access points (APs) and EHT stations (STA), where the multilink MAC address structure is compatible with legacy devices. An EHT AP can utilize a multilink basic service set (BSS) identification (BSSID) MAC address to communicate with an EHT STA identified by a multilink MAC address. Values of the multilink BSSID and the multilink MAC address of the EHT STA are independent of which of the multiple links are used in the communication. In addition, to utilizing a multilink BSSID, the EHT AP can also support unique link-specific MAC addresses to concurrently support legacy and MLD stations. The EHT STA can also utilize unique link-specific MAC addresses that can be different than the EHT AP's link-specific MAC addresses.
