Publication number: 20240110916Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for identifying and treating an early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in a subject. The method mainly includes determining the level of serum amyloid A (SAA) protein, and providing anti-cancer treatment based on the determined level of SAA protein. According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, the anti-cancer treatment is provided when the determined level of SAA protein is lower than that of a first control sample, or when the determined level of SAA protein is higher than that of a second control sample. In some embodiments, the first control sample is derived from a subject having a late stage HCC, and the second control sample is derived from a subject having a liver disease that is any of hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, or a combination thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2022Publication date: April 4, 2024Applicant: Academia SinicaInventors: Yun-Ru CHEN, Jin-Lin WU, Pei-Jer CHEN, Tung-Hung SU

Patent number: 8122345Abstract: By understanding a website author's intention through an analysis of the function of a website, website content can be adapted for presentation or rendering in a manner that more closely appreciates and respects the function behind the website. Various inventive systems and methods analyze a website's function so that its content can be adapted to different client environments, e.g. devices, network conditions, or user preferences. A novel function-based object model automatically identifies objects associated with a website, and analyzes those objects in terms of their functions. The function-based object model permits consistent, informed decisions to be made in the adaptation process, so that web content is displayed not only in an organized manner, but in a manner that reflects the author's intention.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2008Date of Patent: February 21, 2012Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Jin-Lin Chen, Yudong Yang, Hong-Jiang Zhang

Publication number: 20090125800Abstract: By understanding a website author's intention through an analysis of the function of a website, website content can be adapted for presentation or rendering in a manner that more closely appreciates and respects the function behind the website. A website's function is analyzed so that its content can be adapted to different client environments. A function-based object model (FOM) identifies objects associated with a website, and analyzes those objects in terms of their functions. Desktop oriented websites are adapted for mobile devices based on the FOM and on a mobile control intermediary language.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 30, 2008Publication date: May 14, 2009Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Jin-Lin Chen, Wei-Ying Ma

Desktop oriented websites are adapted for mobile devices based on the FOM and on a mobile control intermediary language. While the FOM attempts to understand a website author's intention based on functional analysis of web content, the mobile control intermediary language enables the author to create web content that can be presented in various mobile devices by processing the objects, by extracting forms from the objects, and by generating a file in the mobile control intermediary language for each form.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2002Date of Patent: June 20, 2006Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Jin-Lin Chen, Wei-Ying Ma
