    Abstract: A hard disk drive is provided with a ramp mechanism at the side of the disks for holding head sliders when the disks do not rotate. The ramp mechanism includes a ramp unit at least partially opposed to an outer edge of each disk medium. A roller provided in the ramp unit rotatably contacts the outer edge of the disk medium when the outer edge of the disk medium deflects with respect to its rotation axis.
