  • Patent number: 7776435
Abstract: The present invention is an electrophotographic transfer paper where at least one side of the base paper is given a coating layer with a pigment and an adhesive agent to form coated paper and where the aforementioned adhesive contains a branched poly(meth)acrylamide copolymer having a cationic groups and/or anionic groups and also has a weight average molecular weight of 50,000 to 1,000,000. The electrophotographic transfer paper in the present invention has superior high-speed throughput performance despite low basis weight and a low coating weight, therefore, good for high-speed copy machine and printer properties, especially, when it contained a printability improver in the coating layer, it has a good ink adhesion property and surface strength required in offset printing.

  • Patent number: 7628886
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an inkjet recording cast-coated paper wherein a coating solution containing a pigment and a binder resin is supplied to a base paper, a treatment solution having the function of solidifying the binder resin is supplied to the coating layer while it is still wet in order to solidify the coating layer, and the wet, solidified coating layer is brought into pressure contact with the mirror surface of a heated drum and dried to obtain a cast-coated layer. According to this invention, the treatment solution is supplied by the double pond method wherein the roll is enclosed by the base paper so as to bring the wet coating layer into contact, and ponds of treatment solution are formed both before and after the coating layer comes into contact with the roll.

  • Publication number: 20050179759
Abstract: This invention is an inkjet recording sheet having a high gloss cast coating recording layer containing a pigment and a binder comprising mainly polyvinyl alcohol on a support having air permeability, wherein the pigment is a mixture comprising alumina (A) and silica (B) having an average particle diameter of 100˜500 nm, blended in the proportion of A:B=95:5˜50:50 in terms of weight ratio. The silica (B) is preferably a silica to which cationic properties have been imparted, and the alumina (A) is preferably ?-alumina. Due to this, the gloss of a silver halide photograph together with excellent ink absorption properties and print density can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6080466
Abstract: The present invention overcomes drawbacks of prior composite sheets consisting of a spun-bonded nonwoven fabric and pulp fibers and provides an inexpensive composite sheet with excellent draping qualities, a nearly fabric-like touch and good usability. According to the present invention, a composite sheet made by entangling a web of thermoplastic filaments with pulp fibers under water stream is creped to increase the elongation in machine direction as high as in cross direction enough to obtain a usability equal to those of fabric wipers.
