  • Publication number: 20060101352
Abstract: On a computer screen (3), various non-overlapping views (A, B, C, . . . ) or “windows” may be displayed simultaneously. To present the views more conveniently for a user, the views can be automatically rear-ranged in response to a rearrangement request by the user. Various alternative arrangements can be presented in succession. It may be possible to exclude some views from being rearranged.

  • Publication number: 20060067511
Abstract: The consumer electronics device (1) for making content available consists of an output means (3,5,7), a control unit (23), and a transmitter (21). The control unit (23) is able to create a representation of a human perceptual signal being generated by the output means (3,5,7) and instruct the transmitter (21) to broadcast the representation. The electronics device (1) for accessing new content consists of an output means (3,5,7), a receiver (25), and a control unit (23). The control unit (23) uses the receiver (25) to receive representations of multiple further human perceptual signals and instructs the output means (3,5,7) to generate a human perceptual signal from these multiple representations. The method of making content available consists of creating (41) a representation (51) of a human perceptual signal (49) generated by a consumer electronic device and broadcasting (43) the representation (51).

  • Publication number: 20050159188
Abstract: A portable data processing apparatus (120) receives information identifying interaction opportunities for a user of the apparatus and presents them via a display (10). For each identified interaction opportunity, a processor (130) generates a respective display icon (38, 18). The processor generates a user interface having at least first (12), second (16) and third (14) display panes, with newly generated display icons (38) being initially displayed in the first display pane (12). Subsequently, icons (18) are moved to the second display pane (16) and arranged according to a predetermined prioritisation scheme. On user selection of a displayed icon, additional data associated with the selected icon is displayed in the third display pane (14).
