  • Patent number: 10463311
Abstract: A method for ballistocardiography (BCG) and a BCG system ballistocardiography (BCG) system for heart beat determination are provided. The method includes digitizing a plurality of signals received from a corresponding plurality of sensors, estimating a plurality of smoothed cepstra corresponding to each of the plurality of digitized signals in response to a smoothed cepstrum analysis of a digital signal at a reception time of each of the plurality of digitized signals, and estimating a fused cepstrum for the plurality of digitized signals in response to the plurality of smoothed cepstra. The method further includes determining a heart rate in response to the plurality of smoothed cepstra and the fused cepstrum.

  • Publication number: 20120184862
Abstract: A system and method for patient monitoring using an array of pressure sensors, and a computer readable data storage medium having stored thereon computer code means for instructing a computer to execute a method for monitoring a patient using an array of pressure sensors. The method comprising the steps of: determining a value of a selection parameter of each pressure sensor of the array; selecting one more of the pressure sensors based on the respective values of the selection parameter; and measuring a vital sign of the patient based on data obtained from said one or more selected pressure sensors.

  • Patent number: 7797393
Abstract: A shared storage network system comprises at least one storage client and a plurality of storage servers, each providing a storage portion of the shared storage network system, each storage portion being divided into a plurality of sectors, each sector being divided into a plurality of blocks, a virtual block identifier being associated to each of the blocks such that the entirety of all of the virtual block identifiers of the blocks form a global block address space in which each of the virtual block identifiers is unique. The plurality of storage servers and the at least one storage client are grouped into a plurality of local area networks interconnected with preferred optical channels to form a global network. The at least one storage client is adapted to have read and/or write access to at least one block of at least one of the storage portions associated to one of the local area networks which differs from the local area network of the storage client.

  • Publication number: 20090142055
Abstract: A control device for controlling the optical data transmission in an optical burst switching mode between a source computer and a destination computer, the control device being connected to the source computer and to the destination computer and being adapted such that in case of a burst to be transmitted from the source computer to the destination computer, the length of the burst is determined based on a parameter indicating an available buffer size of the destination computer, and a predetermined timeout value parameter indicating a time after which improper burst transmission is assumed to have been occurred. After the burst length is determined and the traffic starts to be accumulated, a proposed burst reservation and transmission scheme, namely random burst eligibility time method, is used to deliver the burst.
