Abstract: A stringer connector for rigidly connecting staircase stringers together. The stringer connector is a channel having a base with tabs extending inward from the base for physically locating the stringers in the channel. Openings are formed through walls of the channel for insertion of fasteners through the stringers. A base surface of the channel preferably further comprises a plurality of ridges extending inwards from respective ends of the channel to separate the stringers from the base surface, the base preferably further comprises a bracket for attaching the stringer connector to an intermediate support structure. A staircase constructed using the stringer connector is also included.
