  • Publication number: 20220021711
Abstract: A secure data fabric (SDF) can include a security platform for sharing data, access and discovery of data, and audit traceability, across disparate data stores and networks. A SDF can leverage blockchain with attribute-based access control (ABAC). A SDF platform can include an immutable data storage medium, a data sharing node, a central processing unit, and memory having software, which can be configured to implement a blockchain and an ABAC module. The immutable data storage medium can be part of a network. The immutable data storage medium can be immutable off-chain data storage for the SDF, and a multi-layered ABAC security policy can be implemented for the SDF. The SDF can have a cross-domain topology model. A multi-party workflow for account keys and digital signatures management can be further implemented. A microservices-based access control module can be configured to dynamically evaluate digital security policies for a secure data fabric.

  • Patent number: 10358363
Abstract: Novel fluorophores and their use as fluorescent tags for polymers used in wastewater treatment. The fluorophores are quaternary amine salts that can be used to synthesize fluorescent tagged polymers that are stable at varying pH, have significant water solubility, and may be fluorescent at wavelengths greater than 550 nm. The fluorophores readily undergo polymerization with vinylic monomers to form fluorescent tagged polymers with excellent incorporation of fluorophore into the polymer framework. The fluorescent tagged polymers are useful to monitor and optionally dose industrial wastewater.

  • Patent number: 10150472
Abstract: A method for automatically assessing the risk of collision between a vehicle and an object includes determining a danger value characteristic of the risk of collision on the basis of the relative position and the relative speed between the vehicle and the object. A braking danger value is determined based on the current distance between the vehicle and a last possible (“last-chance”) position at which it is possible to avoid a collision between the vehicle and the object by braking the vehicle, and a steering danger value is determined based on the current distance between the vehicle and a last possible (“last-chance”) position at which it is possible to avoid a collision between the vehicle and the object by steering the vehicle. The risk of collision is assessed on the basis of the braking danger value and the second danger value.

  • Patent number: 9920929
Abstract: Biomass is quickly becoming an important feedstock for energy generation in power plants. Due to their composition and nature, certain biomass fuels contribute to slagging, fouling, and corrosion. This invention provides a novel method of reducing or suppressing slag deposition and/or cleaning deposited slag in energy production processes in which potassium-containing solid fuels are combusted. Besides acting as a slag suppressant, further advantages of this invention are that the additive has no detrimental side-effects on capital equipment, increases slag friability, decreases slag fouling rate, reduces heat transfer corrosion as well as increasing the lifetime of the selective catalytic reduction catalyst.

  • Patent number: 9767696
Abstract: A method for detecting moving objects in the area surrounding a vehicle by means of a vehicle-mounted sensor system having separate detection zones between which there is at least one detection gap. A crossover of an object between two detection zones across a detection gap is bridged by prediction by means of a transfer algorithm. Detected objects are classified according to type and the transfer algorithm is a movement model selected to match the determined object type and according to which the object is expected to move through the gap and which comprises a probability of the object being located in the gap. The probability is calculated from location and movement variables of the vehicle and of the detected object. The probability further takes into account any features in the roadway section that may permit the object to enter and/or exit the roadway directly into/out of the detection gap.

  • Patent number: 9758164
Abstract: A method and device for regulating the speed of a motor vehicle, wherein an electronic device a) compares deceleration of a vehicle with a threshold value immediately after a driver switches off a cruise control system and b), if the deceleration exceeds the threshold value, sends a torque demand signal to a powertrain component to reduce the vehicle deceleration to the threshold value or below. The electronic device may further c) compare vehicle acceleration with a second threshold value when the driver switches off the cruise control system, and d), if the acceleration exceeds the second threshold value, send a braking demand signal to a vehicle brake to reduce the vehicle acceleration to the second threshold value or lower.

  • Patent number: 9550519
Abstract: A method for operating an active steering system of a vehicle, in which a ratio between a wheel steer angle and a steering wheel angle specified by the driver can be modified by superimposition of a superimposition angle. The method comprises detecting an offset between a requested motor angle and an actual motor angle, and reducing the offset between the requested motor angle and the actual motor angle using a reduction rate that is selected as a function of at least one input variable specified by the driver.

  • Publication number: 20160026967
Abstract: A method of enabling collection of goods supplied by a provider is initiated by a user placing an order with a provider, the order identifying goods and a vehicle scheduled to collect the goods. In response to the order, the provider generates a code that relates the order with information identifying the scheduled collection vehicle. The provider transmits the code to a communication device operated by a delivery person at a collection point. Upon arrival of the vehicle at the collection point, the delivery person reads the vehicle information from the vehicle and enters it into the device to thereby trigger transmission of the code from the device. Upon receipt by the vehicle of the code, a vehicle compartment is unlocked so that it may be opened for loading of the goods.
