  • Publication number: 20250365567
Abstract: The disclosure describes systems and methods for improving access point discovery with dynamic dwell time. A station can transmit a probe request to be received by an access point. The probe request can identify a scan dwell time of the station. While waiting for the probe response during the scan dwell time, the station can determine that the probe response from the access point has yet to be received at a point during the scan dwell time. Responsive to the determination, the station can dynamically increase the scan dwell time while waiting for the probe response from the access point. The access point can receive the probe request and determine whether to respond within the scan dwell time. The access point can identify a relevant metric of time and generate the probe response. The access point can transmit the probe response to the station within the scan dwell time.

  • Publication number: 20250247786
Abstract: Systems and methods use a protocol for multilink operations. The systems and methods can use a circuit configured to provide frames across a connection comprised of one or more links. The circuit 1. is configured to use during an idle condition a lower power consuming link of the links for link management operations, 2. is configured to use during the lower power consuming link of the links for beacon synchronization operations, or 3. is configured to select the links in response to traffic parameters and a power consumption characteristic of the links.

  • Patent number: 10554476
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing a peer-to-peer connection are disclosed. A first electronic device discovers a second electronic device available for peer-to-peer connection. A group owner intent value is determined based on one or more power characteristics of the first electronic device. A group owner intent value for the second electronic device is received. The determined group owner intent value is compared with the received group owner intent value for the second electronic device. A group role is assumed based on the comparison of the determined group owner intent value and the received group owner intent value for the second electronic device.

  • Patent number: 9148854
Abstract: A method and system for saving power in a peer-to-peer group owner. The group owner uses an adaptive absence method for deciding the absence of the group owner based on the amount of data traffic in the network. The group owner periodically sends period of absence information with dynamic values to client devices, informing them of the dynamically changing period of absence.

  • Publication number: 20140206285
Abstract: Systems and methods for establishing an in-band connection using an out-of-band connection are provided. In some aspects, a system includes a handshake module configured to communicate, by a first electronic device with a second electronic device, connection setup information over a first connection. The system also includes a security module configured to select a security scheme based on the communicated connection setup information. The system also includes a role module configured to determine a communication role of the first electronic device and a communication role of the second electronic device based on the communicated connection setup information. The system also includes a connection module configured to facilitate establishing a second connection between the first electronic device and the second electronic device based on the selected security scheme, the communication role of the first electronic device, and the communication role of the second electronic device.
