Patent number: 8612621Abstract: A method for constructing a network topology is applied in a streaming delivery system. The streaming delivery system includes: a center server (CS-P), an edge server (ES-P), a request scheduling server (RRS-P), and a client. The disclosed embodiments utilizes the upload capabilities of the client to transmit a part of streaming data, thus consuming fewer center server resources. By constructing the network topology, the disclosed embodiments enable the client to obtain a part of streaming data from other clients, reduces the load capability requirements for the server, and ensures that a streaming delivery network may provide streaming live services with higher bandwidths and better quality.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2009Date of Patent: December 17, 2013Assignee: Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.Inventors: Zhibing Wang, Zhefeng Yan, Haohua Chen, Jiying Dui, Yaohui Li, Jiahao Wei, Chuansong Xue

Publication number: 20110258294Abstract: A media data processing method and apparatus are disclosed. The method includes: by a media server, receiving a play request which carries information of media content to be played; obtaining information of a related source server according to the information of the media content to be played and obtaining related media data from a locally stored media data segment; determining start time and/or end time of a media data segment to be obtained from the source server according to play time of the locally stored media data segment; and obtaining the media data segment from the source server according to the determined start time and/or end time of the media data segment. The invention prevents unnecessary transmission of media data and reduces the load of the server.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 24, 2011Publication date: October 20, 2011Applicant: Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.Inventors: Jiying Dui, Chunrong Yue, Jian Chen

Publication number: 20100246432Abstract: A method for detecting QoS anomaly is provided. The method includes obtaining a QoS index of data stream transmission of a parent peer, and detecting QoS anomaly of the parent peer according to the QoS index and a corresponding QoS index threshold. A method for detecting factors causing QoS anomaly is also provided. The method includes detecting whether QoS of an associated peer is abnormal or not, counting a QoS anomaly proportion of the associated peer statistically, and determining factors causing QoS anomaly according to the anomaly proportion of the associated peer. Correspondingly, a system for detecting QoS anomaly and a system for detecting factors causing QoS anomaly are also provided. Thus, the QoS anomaly information is detected, and the factors causing the QoS anomaly are also detected, so as to ensure that the QoS anomaly information is precisely detected in a P2P system, and the QoS in the system is indeed guaranteed.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2010Publication date: September 30, 2010Applicant: HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD.Inventors: Weidong ZHANG, Yandong CAO, Jiying DUI

Publication number: 20090113253Abstract: A media delivery system includes a media manager (MM) a central server that supports peer to peer (P2P) technology (CS-P), a request routing system that supports P2P technology (RRS-P), and an edge server that supports P2P technology (ES-P) and multiple P2P clients. A method for playing streaming media based on the above media delivery system includes: the MM publishes a live channel notification to the CS-P, RRS-P, and ES-P; the CS-P obtains streaming data packets from a live source and parses and slices the packets to generate slice data; the ES-P obtains the slice data from the CS-P and/or other ES-Ps that are able to provide slice data and caches the slice data; and the P2P client obtains the slice data from the ES-P or other P2P clients and delivers the data, or the data is played by a local player after an assembly operation by the P2P client. With the P2P technology, the present invention improves the prior media delivery network and realizes the playing of streaming media to a large number of clients.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 16, 2008Publication date: April 30, 2009Applicant: Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.Inventors: Zhibing WANG, Zhefeng YAN, Jiying DUI, Haohua CHEN, Yaohui LI, Jiahao WEI, Chuansong XUE
