  • Patent number: 11156840
Abstract: An optical guide for a near-eye display device includes a first guide element having a light input zone and a second guide element having an output zone. The first guide element is superimposed on the second guide element. The optical guide also includes an optical coupling system between the first guide element and the second guide element, and the first and second guide elements have, on the first part of their length, a mutual spacing so as to delimit a thin layer of air between said guide elements extending between a first longitudinal end of the guide elements and the optical coupling system. The optical coupling system, located at a second longitudinal end of the first and second guide elements, includes a single-piece portion of the guide elements, associated with an optical reflection member to propagate the beams of light from the input zone toward the output zone.

  • Publication number: 20180120506
Abstract: Disclosed is a laser treatment device and a workstation including such a device. The laser treatment device includes a laser head including an optical fiber terminating in a beam focusing end piece that is shaped from the free end portion of the fiber so as to form a single part therewith. The focusing end piece is rotationally symmetrical about an axis and has a shape defined externally by a substantially semi-elliptic convex curve of given dimensions, and the distance d between the tip of the focusing end piece and the working area, and the shape and positioning of the end piece are such that the laser head generates a slightly divergent, focused laser beam in the form of a photon jet, having a diameter at the working area of the order of magnitude of the wavelength.

  • Patent number: 7048190
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for reading information from and recording information to a diffractive optics memory using symmetrical angular encoding. A coherent light source is split to form an object beam and a corresponding reference beam. An optical axis is defined by the object beam being aligned perpendicular to a plane of the diffractive optics memory. A steering mirror is configured to direct the reference beam received from the coherent light source to the memory. A first plurality of mirrors arranged around one side of the optical axis receives the reference beam from the steering mirror and directs the reference beam at a first angle towards the memory. A second plurality of mirrors arranged around the symmetrical side of the optical axis receives the reference beam from the steering mirror and directs the reference beam at a second angle towards the memory. The first angle is identical to the second angle but formed on the symmetrical side of the optical axis.

  • Publication number: 20060018182
Abstract: The present invention comprises a solid-state system for reading information from a photonics diffractive memory. An acousto-optic deflector directs a convergent light beam onto a micr-mirror array which then reflects the light beam onto the photonics diffractive memory at a predetermined point and angle so as to access a packet of information. The compact architecture for this diffractive optics systems in accordance with the present invention integrates a number of components into a compact package, including an acousto-optic deflector and a microoptoelectromechanical system (MOEMS) mirror array whose elements oscillate with a sznchronized frequency adapted to that of the acousto-optic deflector. This architecture reduces the addressing component of a reading system for a photonics diffractive memory to a matchbox size.

  • Publication number: 20050230476
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for reading information from and recording information to a diffractive optics memory (8) using symmetrical angular encoding. A coherent light source (LASER 10) is split to form an object beam (OBJ.B4) and a corresponding reference beam (REF.B1). An optical axis is defined by the object beam being aligned perpendicular to a plane of the diffractive optics memory. A steering mirror (R.M 40) is configured to direct the reference beam received from the coherent light source to the memory. A first plurality of mirrors (37a) arranged around one side of the optical axis receives the reference beam from the steering mirror and directs the reference beam at a first angle towards the memory. A second plurality of mirrors (37b) arranged around the symmetrical side of the optical axis receives the reference beam from the steering mirror and directs the reference beam at a second angle towards the memory.

  • Publication number: 20050219670
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed that comprises a holographic memory device in which a plurality of data packets are stored as diffractive patterns, a beam system adapted to transmit a reference beam to the memory device to read the packets sequentially, a microlens array, a solid state scanning system (e.g a microoptoelectromechanical device) and a photodetector array in which the microlens array is adapted to focus the output beam corresponding to each data packet on the same spatial area in the central part of a solid state scanning system and the solid state scanning system then routes it to a photodetector array. This allows the use of a fast solid state scanning system, which has a limited angular scanning range, without losing data at the edge of the matrix of points in which the data packet is recorded.

  • Publication number: 20050180300
Abstract: A matrix of displays to display binary information and modulate an object beam (125) into sub-object beams with the binary information. A matrix of microlenses (202) focuses the sub-object beams (203) onto a recording plate (205). The sub-object beams intersect a reference beam (120) to create holograms on a matrix of points of the recording plate (205).
