  • Publication number: 20040086439
Abstract: Process for removing mercury from flue gases of high-temperature plants, in particular power stations and waste incineration plants in which a bromine compound is fed to the multistage furnace and/or the flue gas in a plant section downstream of the furnace, the temperature during contact of the bromine compound with the flue gas being at least 500° C., preferably at least 800° C. The combustion is carried out in the presence of a sulphur compound, in particular sulphur dioxide. • Publication number: 20030065236
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for the low-corrosion and low-emission co-incineration of highly halogenated wastes, in particular liquid waste, in waste incineration plants having at least one combustion chamber, a waste-heat boiler, a multistage flue gas scrubber comprising a single-stage or multistage acidic scrubber and an alkaline scrubber, in which sulfur or a corresponding sulfur carrier is added under control to the primary and/or secondary combustion chamber. The amount of sulfur is controlled substantially in proportion to the current halogen loading originating from the waste in the boiler flue gas.

  • Patent number: 6387032
Abstract: The invention relates to a screw-type centrifuge configured in such a way that the use of multistage planetary gear trains allows for high peripheral speeds of the drum and large drum diameters. According to the invention the drum bearing on the gear train side is positioned between two stages of the multistage planetary gear train. The housing jacket of the multistage planetary gear train, which is connected to the drum jacket and therefore rotates at the same r.p.m., has an intermediate piece which has a small diameter and is housed by the drum bearing together with a shaft connecting the gear train stages. The system provided for in the invention, according to which the drum bearing on the gear train side is positioned between two stages of the multistage planetary gear train, is used in the case of very large decanters for which the drum rotates at very high peripheral speeds.

  • Patent number: 6370873
Abstract: A hydraulic drive for a press and in particular for a press for the simulation of the operating conditions of mechancial presses for large parts or the like is proposed. In order to also make such a hydraulic simulation press available for pilot lots or small lots with a considerable improvement in efficiency, a so-called hydraulic transformer, which consists of hydraulic devices adjustable in angular travel, is assigned to the drive.

  • Patent number: 5574204
Abstract: Water-containing inorganic waste materials, originally in loose form, and which contain water-soluble components capable of reacting with each other are mixed and then compacted at a pressure sufficient to reduce the space, volume between the particles of material, cause the reduced space volume to become filled with water and the reactive components to react.

  • Patent number: 5568766
Abstract: A method for controlling the drive of a hydraulic press and an associated device for carrying out the method are proposed, the piston/cylinder unit belonging to a press ram being driven via several hydraulic devices connected in series. Depending on the operating phase of the press, the hydraulic devices are here used as required either as hydraulic motors or hydraulic pumps, which effect a delivery of pressure medium into the respective cylinder chamber.

  • Patent number: 5551207
Abstract: An apparatus for preparing a layered food product has a station for introducing a first food component into a container and a station for introducing a second food component into the container on top of the first food component. The apparatus also has a unit for metering CO.sub.2 snow onto the first food component and a suction unit for removal of residual CO.sub.2 snow before introduction of the second food component into the container, the metering and removal being effected during passage of the first food component in the container through a tunnel in which air conditions about the container may be controlled.

  • Patent number: 5494692
Abstract: A multilayered food product, which has an upper component which has a density which is at least 0.2 kg/dm.sup.3 greater than a density of a lower component, is prepared by introducing a first food component into a container and within 30 seconds after introduction of the first food component applying a CO.sub.2 snow to a top surface of the first food component in the container for frosting the surface and removing residual CO.sub.2 snow from the surface and introducing a second food component into the container onto the frosted surface of the first food component.

  • Patent number: 5386756
Abstract: The invention relates to a saw chain for a motor-driven chain saw equipped with a guide bar and a drive motor for imparting a force to the saw chain for moving the latter around the guide bar in a predetermined running direction. The chain saw is further equipped with a device for supplying lubricating oil to the saw chain during the movement thereof. The saw chain includes a plurality of cutting links, a plurality of driving links and a plurality of side links all pivotally interconnected by rivets. Abrasive small particles become entrained in the lubricating oil which can lead to premature wear at the pivot locations. The saw chain of the invention includes a hold-back element in front of a rivet to hold back such particles and yet not affect the flow of lubricating oil to the pivot connection.

  • Patent number: 5026208
Abstract: The accumulated waste is pressed under high pressure to form blocks or boards having high strength, low elutability and low permeability, then packed in film individually or in stacks in a dust-tight and water-tight manner and deposited in this form on a dump like building bricks. The process can be used universally for all waste which is available as bulk material and has no coarse components, such as stones, metal pieces and the like.

  • Patent number: 4956918
Abstract: The invention is directed to a guide bar for the saw chain of a motor-driven chain saw and includes a base body section on which a nose assembly section for the saw chain is releasably attached. The nose assembly section is attached to the base body section by means of a releasable lock which is not destroyed in order to effect a separation of the two sections. The lock includes an eccentric cam which is rotatable about an axis transverse to the plane of the guide bar. The cam is in contact engagement with a wall of a bore in the guide bar when the cam is in the locked position.

  • Patent number: 4563961
Abstract: In a tufting needle with an eye (7) elongate in the direction of the needle axis (8), one side face is bevelled at one longitudinal edge by a land (6) and at the other longitudinal edge by a bias grind (14) reaching into the zone of the eye. The uppermost zone of that edge (9) of the eye, which zone is furthest from the needle point (13), is offset towards the land (6) relatively to the central axis (8) of the eye (7) to facilitate trouble-free co-operation between the looper (2) on the one hand and the needle and yarn (5) on the other hand.
