  • Patent number: 10578009
Abstract: The invention relates to a two-stroke internal combustion engine, in particular for a motor vehicle, with direct fuel injection, comprising at least one working cylinder (1) which comprises a bushing and in which a piston (6) can be moved in an oscillating manner; at least one outlet channel (2) which opens into the working cylinder (1) above the upper dead center of the piston (6); at least two inlet openings (5) which are distributed over the circumference of the bushing and which open into the working cylinder (1) above the lower dead center of the piston (6) such that a uniflow scavenging process of the working cylinder (1) is produced during the operation of the two-stroke internal combustion engine; and a slider which releases and closes the inlet openings (5), whereby the slider is designed as a tube slider (4) which surrounds the bushing of the working cylinder (1) and which comprises a closed casing.

  • Patent number: 8257981
Abstract: Novel chemical compounds, with application in fluorometric analytical methods, for qualitative and quantitative determination of biomolecules. The aim of the invention is to identify and prove the suitability of such compounds. Said aim is achieved with compounds of formula (1) where R1 is an antenna function, R2 is a chelate forming agent, containing a coordinated lanthanide(III)ion, X is —OH or a group with affinity for the biomolecule, bonded to a carboxylate group of the chelate forming agent by means of an amide bond and Y is —H or a group with affinity for the biomolecule, coupled to the antenna function.

  • Patent number: 5555861
Abstract: A valve drive for controlling gas exchange valves of an internal combustion engine having a cylinder head, a valve stem and a longitudinal tappet axis including a camshaft having a first cam with a first cam profile and a second cam with a second cam profile greater than the first cam profile. The second cam has two cam members which abut both sides of the first cam. A cup-shaped tappet is slidably disposed within the cylinder head for engaging the two cam members. A central tappet is disposed within the cup-shaped tappet for engaging the first cam. A lash adjuster is disposed within the central tappet and supported against the valve stem. A hydraulic switching arrangement is disposed between the cup-shaped tappet and the central tappet for selectively moving the valve stem according to the first and second cam profiles.

  • Patent number: 5402756
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the engagement between a cam and a push rod in an internal combustion engine for affecting operation of a valve. The apparatus includes an outer tappet engaging the cam. A central tappet is connected to the push rod and supported within the outer tappet. A tappet coupling member is disposed between the outer tappet and the central tappet. A locking element is slidable between an unlocked position where the outer tappet moves freely with respect to the central tappet and a locked position, where the outer tappet is locked to the central tappet for moving the push rod to open the valve.
