  • Patent number: 7103440
Abstract: The invention uses microwaves in the spinning industry in order to determine the band mass of an elongated, substantially non-twisted fiber structure. In addition, a method for measuring the sliver mass from the frequency detuning and the damping of resonance signals of a microwave sensor while taking into consideration the moisture of the fiber structure with a computer is suggested. Likewise, a corresponding spinning preparation machine and a laboratory device for measuring the sliver mass are part of the invention. Lastly, a method and a spinning preparation machine for recognizing foreign matter in a moved fiber structure with the aid of microwaves is suggested.

  • Patent number: 6983516
Abstract: Different improvements of a spinning preparation machine are proposed to measure the fiber sliver thickness or the fiber sliver cross-section of at least one fiber sliver by means of one or several microwave sensors. One improvement is characterized by compressing means and special mechanical guiding elements that can be installed before, after and/or in the microwave sensor. It is also proposed to install a pair of conveyor rollers after a microwave sensor that can be designed in particular as an input roller pair of the subsequent drafting equipment. Furthermore, proposals are made for the calibration of the (at least one) microwave sensor.

  • Patent number: 6157146
Abstract: The invention concerns a procedure for correction of error of speed and mechanical related error, particularly in the thickness of a fiber band in a textile machine, especially stretch machines. The purpose of the invention lies in the correction of the speed related errors in measurement signals from an instrument of the textile machine. This purpose is achieved by each measurement value generating a respective corresponding inverse and speed related correction value. By means of this correction value, each measurement value can be correspondingly and individually corrected.

  • Patent number: 5796635
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for rapid measurement of thickness or mass of a fiber sliver in a draw-frame or card (so-called "regulation"). The object of the invention is to accelerate the process of measuring according to the state of the art while maintaining measuring precision and even improving it. For this, a process for rapid measuring of the thickness or mass of a fiber sliver in a machine processing fiber slivers, such as a draw-frame or card, in which the primary measuring signal (u.sub.1, u.sub.1 ') of the measurement indicator is taken via a signal-influencer which modifies the primary signal by segment or point before transmission in the form of measuring signal (u.sub.2, u.sub.2 '); the modification is predetermined by a characteristic line stored previously by segment or point which is based on a relationship (K1) measured by point between defined predetermined thicknesses at the measurement indicator and the primary measurement signal (u.sub.1 u.sub.1 ') measured at that moment.

  • Patent number: 5771542
Abstract: A process for direct ascertainment of setting values for point of autolevelling and/or amplification application (R, K) of a draw frame or carder with adjustable drafting of fiber sliver in which the autolevelling of the adjustable draw frame or carder is provided at least with one pilot control (10) in order to change the drafting of the fiber sliver (20) is proposed. The process accelerates optimation but not so that it may produce an inherent restlessness in the autolevelling of the draw frame. This is achieved if a function (a, b) is found through several measured values (CV1, CV2, CV3) of a quality-characterizing magnitude such as CV-value, the minimum of which (am, bm) results in an optimizing parameter such as the point of autolevelling or amplification application (R0, K0) for the autolevelling (10) of the draw frame or carder.

  • Patent number: 5713106
Abstract: The invention relates to a process to ensure precise autolevelling for the drafting of a fiber structure in a pre-spinning machine, whereby an open control circuit controls the drafting of the fiber sliver through the drafting rollers, whereby the fiber structure is clampingly held between drafting roller pairs and sensing roller pair during stoppage, whereby a pulse generator is able to produce impulses for the rotation of a pair of sensing rollers which are transmitted to an electronic memory during stoppage of the drafting equipment, and whereby the association of data and momentary position of the sliver events is maintained in the electronic memory during stoppage of the drafting equipment.During stoppage each impulse of the pulse generator is detected and evaluated by means of an electronic system (13, 15, 23) on the connection between pulse generator (4, 14, 19, 22) and electronic memory (3, 18, 26).

  • Patent number: 5384934
Abstract: A process for improving the regulation of a draw frame wherein measuring signals indicating thickness of a fiber sliver are detected at the input and output of the draw frame by measuring elements and processed by the regulating system of the draw frame comprising interfacing a fuzzy controller with the regulating system of the draw frame. The measuring signals indicating the thickness of the fiber sliver are inputted into the fuzzy controller. Various influencing factors which are not compensated for by the regulating system are also inputted into the fuzzy controller, the influencing factors having an effect on the measuring signals. The influencing factors are linked and weighted with respect to the measuring signals in the fuzzy controller in accordance with fuzzy inference rules based on empirical data established in the fuzzy controller.

  • Patent number: 4553709
Abstract: The yarn (31) is fed substantially tangentially from a feed station (30) to the feed end (101) of an accumulator roller (10) of a yarn accumulator (1), drivable by a rotary drive means (120). The yarn is dischargeable from an exit end (103) of this accumulator roller (10) counter to the action of a restraining element (14) through a yarn guide means (4) arranged in prolongation of the axis (122) of the accumulator roller. The restraining element (14) is of radially outwardly open construction and is formed by a yarn restraining ring drivable relative to the accumulator roller (10). The ring includes a radially outwardly open yarn restrainer (141). The yarn guide means (4) consists of two mutually separable yarn guide components (40, 41) and is constructed as a yarn conveyor which deflects the yarn (31) out of a prescribed yarn path (32) into a yarn path intersecting the path of the revolving yarn restrainer (141).

  • Patent number: 4455714
Abstract: A method and apparatus for opening and mixing the fibers from a plurality of bales according to a predetermined mixture. The device includes tongs-like gripper means which press into the fiber bales for removing fibers therefrom. A measuring means and a control means determine the width of opening of the gripper means. A control circuit is provided for receiving a signal representing the weight of the first pick-up from a particular bale and the weight of the fibers deposited in a receiver container. When the sum of these signals is equal to the preset desired weight of the fibers that are to be deposited in the receiver container, a compared signal is produced causing the tongs on successive pick-ups to be opened to a lesser degree. As a result, a high degree of accuracy is obtained when mixing to a predetermined ratio while maintaining a high production output.
