  • Patent number: 8341773
Abstract: A system for flushing a vacuum toilet contains a flushing water reservoir container, which may be filled with flushing water, a toilet bowl, which is connectable using a vacuum wastewater line and via a flushing valve to a vacuum system, and a spray device, situated in the toilet bowl, which is connected via a Venturi nozzle to the flushing water reservoir container. A partial vacuum is generated in the vacuum wastewater line when the flushing valve is open, which generates an airflow, by which flushing water contained in the flushing water reservoir container is suctioned, sprayed via the spray device into the toilet bowl, and suctioned into the vacuum wastewater line.

  • Patent number: 8069778
Abstract: The invention relates to a milk foaming device with a mixing chamber, which is arranged downstream of a steam supply pipe and which is connected to a milk and/or milk/air supply pipe, and a discharge device for the mixture arranged downstream of the mixing chamber, which has a number of discharge channels. The emitted milk foam flow is to be improved. To achieve this the discharge openings of the discharge channels are sloped at an angle to the cross-sectional plane of the discharge channel and the slope angles of the discharge openings of the discharge channels have the same vertex.

  • Patent number: 7581698
Abstract: A transportation vehicle includes a fluid tempering arrangement to supply a gaseous and/or liquid, heated and/or cooled, fluid such as water. At least one thermochemical reservoir is in heat exchange relation with a conduit system, having at least one valve and a controller that controls the transfer of heat between the fluid and the thermochemical reservoir to adjust the temperature of the fluid provided to an outlet. Preferably two interconnected thermochemical reservoirs respectively contain hydride-forming metals having different hydrogen sorption-desorption temperatures. By sorption and desorption of hydrogen in the two reservoirs, heat energy produced electrically during low electrical demand can be chemically stored and later released for heating the fluid during high electrical demand.

  • Patent number: 7318227
Abstract: A method of installing a mobile program code for the control of an industrial automation system with a central computer and a plurality of actors and sensors coupled via a bus system with said central installation computer, has the steps of transmitting the mobile program code from a remote location to the central computer of the industrial automation system, installing and commissioning the mobile program code independently on the industrial automation system, and generating by means of the mobile program code further mobile program codes having a defined task, and transmitting the further mobile program codes at least to said actors and sensors within the industrial automation system.

  • Patent number: 7285753
Abstract: For use on board a mobile means of transport (eg. aircraft, bus, ship), a heating system and method are described which lead to a reduction of peak demand in the on-board kitchen energy supply system relating to the integrated heating appliances for the warming or heating of food. For this, latent or thermochemical heat storage units are used which are fully integrated into the structural elements of the heating appliance in question and heats the product in such a way that there is sufficient heat output, while at the same time, the absolute temperature is limited by means of an appropriate choice of heat storage material for product enhancement.

  • Patent number: 7055183
Abstract: Water, preferably fresh potable water, is electrochemically, e.g. electrolytically, treated to achieve disinfectant properties. The electrochemically treated water is sprayed onto the toilet seat and directed into the toilet bowl for each flush cycle of an aircraft toilet system, so as to clean and disinfect the toilet seat and the toilet bowl. The electrochemically treated water has a direct germ-killing effect on the seat and bowl, and also disinfects the arising wastewater that is conveyed to and stored in a storage tank. For flushing the toilet bowl, the electrochemically treated water may further be mixed with reused graywater, which is thereby disinfected.

A method involves supplying and chemically storing heat energy in at least one thermochemical reservoir, then performing a reverse reaction to release and transfer heat from at least one thermochemical reservoir to the fluid, preferably involving the sorption and desorption of hydrogen in respective hydride-forming metals in two reservoirs exhibiting different hydrogen reaction temperatures.

  • Patent number: 6691540
Abstract: Method and apparatus for presetting process variables in at least one actuating element of a rolling train for rolling metal strips, in which guarantee values are predefined. The guarantee values specified, which cover the intended stipulations and the associated tolerance bands for the quality features of the metal strip, are, for example, strip flatness and/or strip contour and/or strip profile. The tolerance bands of the intended stipulations over a predefinable number of metal strips are taken into account in such a way that an optimum set point calculation of at least one process variable is carried out over the predefined number of metal strips.

  • Patent number: 6640701
Abstract: Catering in a transport vehicle like an aircraft involves collecting mixed waste including solids (e.g. left-over food portions, food wastes, napkins, disposable cutlery) and liquids (e.g. beverage rests), without separation. These wastes are disposed of into an apparatus including a receiving container with a filter and separating element at the bottom, a waste shaft leading into the container, a press arrangement with flap doors, pressure pistons which press the press arrangement and flap doors onto the waste in the container to compact the waste, and a drain and coupling system at the bottom of the container. As the waste is compacted, liquids drain down through the filter, oils and fats are removed by the separating element, and non-oily liquids are removed through the coupling system to the vacuum disposal system or the gray water drain line of the vehicle. A control unit controls the overall operation.
