  • Grate cooler for combustion material and process for its operation

    Abstract: In a grate cooler, the unstable state which is attributable to an unusually strong accumulation of the combustion material is prevented by the fact that the waste air from the cooler, which is to be fed as secondary air to the kiln, is injected with water. This is expediently carried out in the inlet region of the cooler in dependence upon the temperature and/or the pressure of the secondary air in the kiln hood.
