Patent number: 7941544Abstract: A communication manager for web-based applications receives indications of application time outs via a callback mechanism. During session initiation, the communication manager provides a termination address to an application along with a session ID. If the session times out due to inactivity, the application may signal the communication manager that the session ID is invalid by sending a message to the termination address. Alternatively, when a communication manager establishes communication sessions for several applications with a common external terminal, the communication manager may receive messages identifying terminal activity at one of the applications and may signal to the other applications to keep their sessions active.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2005Date of Patent: May 10, 2011Assignee: SAP AGInventors: Roman Hayer, Timo Kohr, Jan Ohl, Patrick Zimmermann, Joachim Hartmann, Marek Barwicki

Patent number: 7783522Abstract: The disclosure relates to an automated method for product ordering and other operations via the Internet, while acting as a substitute or surrogate for another entity. According to the method, a user may connect to a web site and request a list of entities (also, “partners”) for which the user is authorized to place orders or perform other operations. Nodes of a hierarchical data structure may be used to represent the entities and the user. The hierarchical data structure may be processed to determine which of the nodes the user is authorized to perform operations for. The instructions may return a list of eligible nodes to the user, filtering out ineligible nodes.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2005Date of Patent: August 24, 2010Assignee: SAP AGInventors: Wolfgang Sattler, Joachim Hartmann

Publication number: 20060167748Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for managing marketing campaigns by sales applications. Sales applications manage campaigns by distinguishing among campaigns for marketing purposes. A customer who is browsing a sales application may be queried for a campaign code. The sales application will then retrieve an indicator of whether the campaign is a public campaign or a private campaign. If the campaign is a public campaign, the sales application will provide the user access. If the campaign is a private campaign, the sales application will require user authentication before the application will display and/or charge the customer discounted rates or provide other purchasing incentives. If a customer cannot provide the proper identification information, the application will not allow access to the private rate. Thus, proprietors may distinguish between marketing campaigns and require user authentication for access to private campaigns.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2005Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventors: Joachim Hartmann, Stefan Broeckel, Michael Dietrich, Michelle Green

Publication number: 20060004708Abstract: In a computer system, predefined search queries may be retrieved from a file. Each of the predefined search queries may be used by a search engine to search a data repository. User-understandable representations of the predefined search queries are displayed on a graphical user interface for user selection. A user input is received upon a user selecting at least one of the displayed user-understandable representations. Upon receiving the user input, the search engine is caused to perform the selected predefined search query in the data repository. The user-understandable representations may be items in one or more drop down list boxes. A results display declaration may specify the search result attributes that are to be displayed, and their formatting.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 4, 2004Publication date: January 5, 2006Inventors: Joachim Hartmann, Bernd Reimann, Ralf Witt, Wolfgang Sattler

Patent number: 5917321Abstract: A process is presented for the direct determination of characteristic magnetic values of thin magnetizable layers, in which an element creating a magnetic field creates the magnetization of a part surface in such a way that the thin magnetizable layer, the element creating the magnetic field, and a magnetic field sensor are located in a relative position of rest to one another. The magnetic field sensor is then positioned opposite the magnetized part surface by a relative movement of the element creating the magnetic field, the magnetic field sensor, and the thin magnetic layer. During the subsequent measurement of the magnetization of the part surface, the thin magnetic layer, the element creating the magnetic field, and the magnetic field sensor are in a relative position of rest to one another.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1997Date of Patent: June 29, 1999Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Peter Pokrowsky, Heinz Lehr, Hans-Joachim Hartmann, Christoph Schulz

Patent number: 5515605Abstract: A device or oven and a method for soldering components (34, 36) onto boards (18), with the device having at least a preheating zone (10) and a soldering zone (12), and a transport device (16), by means of which the boards (18) can be moved from one zone (10) to the next. Infrared radiators (22) extending in the transport direction (20) are disposed in the preheating zone (10) and infrared radiators (24) extending transversely to the transport direction (20) are disposed in the soldering zone (12), with the radiators radiating essentially diagonally, i.e., obliquely, the board surface. As a result, it is achieved that less radiation is absorbed on the surface of the board, or the top surfaces of the components (34, 36), than on the side walls of the corresponding components (34, 38). Moreover, according to a further feature of the invention soldering ovens are adjusted using sensors (54, 56) disposed on measuring boards (18') and in the oven (10, 12).Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1995Date of Patent: May 14, 1996Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Horst-Joachim Hartmann, Peter Saile
