  • Patent number: 6752917
Abstract: A novel process for the continuous preparation of perfluorinated organic compounds by electrochemical fluorination of the parent non-fluorinated or partially fluorinated organic compounds, in which the quantity of charge which the electrolyte can still take up is kept in the range from about 5 Ah per kg of electrolyte to about 600 Ah per kg of electrolyte during the electrochemical fluorination, can be operated continuously over a prolonged period of time without the electrode area-time yield decreasing over time and without the formation of polymeric by products occurring.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 22, 2001
Date of Patent: June 22, 2004
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Andreas Bulan, Joachim Herzig
  • Publication number: 20020127173
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for utilizing waste salt mixtures from HALEX reactions, comprising at least one alkali metal chloride and at least one alkali metal fluoride or bifluoride, and optionally one or more organic compounds, which are depleted by extraction, by contacting the resulting waste salt mixture with concentrated sulfuric acid, removing the resulting hydrogen chloride for the most part by flushing with an inert gas, and reacting the salt-containing sulfuric acid with calcium fluoride to give hydrogen fluoride and alkali metal sulfate-containing calcium sulfate, which can be processed to give a building material binder.

  • Patent number: 4124560
Abstract: A room temperature vulcanizable silica-containing silicone rubber can be produced without pretreatment of the silica by mixing specified amounts of(a) a linear organopolysiloxane of the formula ##STR1## (b) silica of a specific surface area of at least about 50 m.sup.2 /g in the presence of water and a modifying agent of the formula(R.sub.3 Si)nX,then adding ##STR2## (E) ANOTHER FILLER OR PIGMENT, THIS CONSTITUTING A FIRST COMPONENT WHICH IS MIXED WITH A SECOND COMPONENT WHICH COMPRISES(f) a silicic acid ester of the formula(RO).sub.3 SiR'(g) a heavy metal catalyst, and(h) a monohydric aliphatic alcohol of the formulaR--(CH.sub.2).sub.a --OHeven though the silica is not pretreated as was heretofore necessary, the mixtures exhibit good flow properties and the rubber is characterized by improved mechanical properties.

  • Patent number: 4101499
Abstract: A viscosity-stable composition comprising by weightA. about 20 to 100 parts of a linear polyorganosiloxane of the formula ##STR1## in which R is an optionally substituted hydrocarbon radical with up to 10 C atoms,R.sup.1 has any of the definitions of R and in addition can be an OH radical, andn is a positive integer,B. about 5 to 50 parts of a highly disperse active filler with a surface area of at least 50 m.sup.2 /g,C. about 1 to 5 parts of a modifying agent of the formula(R.sub.3 Si).sub.n Xin whichR is as defined above,X is halogen, OH, OR, S, OOCR, N or NY,Y is hydrogen or any of the definitions of R, andn is 1, 2 or 3, andD. about 0.1 to 10 parts of water (based on (a) + (b) + (c)),Is produced by treating the filler with the modifying agent, in the presence of water, during its incorporation into the polyorganosiloxane.
