  • Patent number: 10520134
Abstract: A handheld work apparatus has a device for starting an electric drive motor via an actuating element which can be displaced in a handle counter to an actuating force and acts on a transmission element. The transmission element is shiftable from a rest position into an operating range, wherein the transmission element actuates a switching element and starts the motor. For shifting from the rest position into an end position, a shift force is applied. The shift force forms at least a portion of the actuating force. To keep the actuating force low after the motor is switched on, the displacement path of the transmission element is divided into a first segment and a second segment which includes the operating range. The shift force to be applied to the transmission element rises on the first segment of the path and, after a maximum, decreases on the second segment.

  • Patent number: 10136542
Abstract: An electromechanical function unit is for a battery operated, handheld work apparatus that has an operating switch for putting the work apparatus into operation. The operating switch is to be actuated by an actuating element of the work apparatus. The operating switch is connected to a control unit for operating the work apparatus. The control unit includes a circuit board having electronic components, and has a first circuit board side, and a second circuit board side that faces away from the first circuit board side. In order to avoid wiring and to reduce the tolerance chain, provision is made to dispose the operating switch on the second circuit board side. The operating switch is supported statically via a support arrangement, independently of the circuit board. The support arrangement has no mechanical connection to the circuit board, and leads from the second circuit board side to the first circuit board side.

  • Publication number: 20180257191
Abstract: A first actuating element acts on a blocking device for an operator-controlled element for controlling the drive motor. In an enabled position of the blocking device, the operator-controlled element is enabled to control the drive motor. In a blocking position the blocking device mechanically blocks any actuation of the operator-controlled element. The first element acts on the blocking device via a transfer unit. In an actuated position of a second actuating element, the transfer unit establishes an operative connection between the first element and the blocking device, such that the blocking device is in the enabled position in the actuated position of the first element and is in the blocking position in the non-actuated position of the first element. In the non-actuated position of the second actuating element, the transfer unit is ineffective so that the blocking device is in the blocking position regardless of the first element's position.

  • Publication number: 20170271963
Abstract: A handheld work apparatus has an electric motor for driving a tool. A function module is to be connected to a battery pack via electrical contacts, there being provided an electrical operating switch, for putting the electric motor into operation, which is coupled to an actuating element of the handheld work apparatus. The electric motor is put into operation upon a command of the operating switch, via a control unit. To constitute the function module, provision is made to dispose the electrical contacts, the control unit and the operating switch on a common carrier. The carrier has a first side that faces toward the battery pack, and at least one second side that faces away from the battery pack. The electrical contacts are provided on the first side of the carrier, while the operating switch is held on the second side of the carrier.

  • Patent number: 9289893
Abstract: An electric work apparatus having an electric load which is fed from a rechargeable battery pack. The battery pack is accommodated in a housing with the electric load being connected to the battery pack via an electric connecting cable. To provide cable guidance for the connecting cable that is ergonomically suitable for a user, cable ducts are molded in a housing wall of the backpack-type battery pack that is separate from the electric load. The cable duct opens in the edge of the housing as cable outlets.

  • Patent number: 9072342
Abstract: A portable work apparatus has a main unit and a work tool. The main unit is carried by the user via a strap. The strap has a fastening section which is secured to the main unit via a fastening element. The fastening section is held between a pressure surface of the fastening element and a fastening surface formed on the main unit. To prevent twisting of the strap when the fastening element is secured, provision is made for the fastening surface to be formed with a structure that increases the friction coefficient. The structure interacts with a bearing surface, facing the fastening surface, of the fastening section such that the fastening section, which is held in a clamped manner between the pressure surface of the fastening element and the fastening surface of the main unit, is prevented from rotating relative to the main unit.

  • Patent number: 8968913
Abstract: The invention is directed to a rechargeable battery pack for an electrical load with the load being connected to the rechargeable battery pack by a connection cable. A housing of the rechargeable battery pack has an inner space for accommodating a large number of rechargeable individual cells which are electrically connected to one another and supply the load via the connection cable. To provide the housing with a high level of stability, provision is made for the receiving space in the housing to be subdivided into individual receptacles by partition walls. A cell pack includes a predefined number of the individual cells and is arranged in a corresponding individual receptacle. Each cell pack forms an independent unit which is held in the individual receptacle. The individual cells of a cell pack are electrically and mechanically connected to one another by cell connectors.
