  • Publication number: 20250247740
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to buffer status reporting (BSR) for data packets. An apparatus, such as a user equipment (UE), receives a data packet associated with a set of data packets for transmission (e.g., a service data unit (SDU) of a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) protocol data unit (PDU) set). The set of data packets includes a first subset of data packets (e.g., source data packets) and a second subset of data packets (e.g., redundant data packets). The UE determines a condition is satisfied for transmitting a BSR. The UE transmits the BSR based on a configuration for transmitting the BSR. The BSR indicates a data volume associated with the first subset of data packets and a portion of data packets of the second subset of data packets. In some cases, the base station transmits signaling to the UE indicating the configuration.

  • Publication number: 20250247742
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to a counter mechanism for discarding data packet sets. An apparatus, such as a user equipment (UE), receives a data packet associated with a set of data packets for transmission (e.g., a service data unit (SDU) of a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) protocol data unit (PDU) set). The UE initiates a timer corresponding to reception of the data packet based on receiving the data packet. The UE increments a counter associated with the set of data packets based on a determination that the timer has expired. The UE discards the data packet of the set of data packets based on the counter satisfying a threshold value and a configuration associated with the discarding of the data packet. In some examples, the base station transmits first signaling to the UE that indicates the timer and/or second signaling that indicates the configuration.

  • Publication number: 20250247764
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to conditional execution of cell handover. The techniques discussed herein describe conditional handover using lower-layered signaling (e.g., L1 or L2). In one or more implementations, the UE starts a timer, which may have been configured earlier in a conditional configuration message (also referred to herein as a conditional reconfiguration message) received from a network equipment. If a timing advance (TA) value for a first candidate cell is received before the expiry of this timer, the UE transmits handover completion to the first candidate cell. However, if a TA value for the first candidate cell is received after the expiry of this timer, the UE considers the one or more conditions for the first candidate cell as not fulfilled and may invalidate the TA value and start a fresh evaluation or measurement of the one or more conditions.
