  • Patent number: 11652681
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to adaptive modulation and coding scheme selection and signaling in a communication system. In particular, a modulation and coding scheme to be used for transmission of a data is selected from a set of predetermined modulation and coding schemes. The predetermination of the set is performed by selecting the set from a plurality of predefined sets. The sets have the same size, so that a modulation and coding selection indicator signaled to select the modulation and coding scheme may be advantageously applied to any of the selected sets. Moreover, a second set includes schemes with a modulation not covered by the schemes of a first set, and which is of a higher order than any modulation in the first set.

  • Patent number: 11653379
Abstract: A user equipment in a wireless communications system supporting direct communication between user equipments selects a sidelink destination group (ProSe destination) associated with a sidelink logical channel having a highest logical channel priority among sidelink logical channels, which have data available for transmission in a sidelink control period (SC period) and which have not previously been selected in the same SC period, wherein each of the sidelink logical channels belongs to a sidelink destination group, each of the sidelink logical channels is allocated to a logical channel group (LCG) depending on a priority of said each sidelink logical channel and on a priority of the logical channel group, and the logical channel group is defined per sidelink destination group. The user equipment allocates radio resources to sidelink logical channels belonging to the selected sidelink destination group in decreasing priority order, and transmits the data using the allocated radio resources.

  • Publication number: 20230141989
Abstract: Various aspects relate to a device that receives a configured uplink grant from a base station for semi-persistent uplink transmissions, receives a configuration for a retransmission timer, receives a configuration of a next-generation NodeB (gNB) fixed frame period (FFP) for semi-static channel access in a shared spectrum, detects a downlink transmission burst within gNB-FFP, and obtains a medium access control protocol data unit for a configured uplink transmission that includes a first physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission. A communications manager establishes that a hybrid automatic repeat request process associated with the first PUSCH transmission is pending so as to preclude performance of the first PUSCH transmission in response to determinations that the first PUSCH transmission is associated with a gNB channel occupancy time (COT), there is a time gap between the downlink transmission burst within the gNB-COT, and the first PUSCH transmission is smaller than a time gap threshold.

  • Publication number: 20230114623
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for dynamically indicating a TDD reconfiguration to the mobile station by encoding the dynamic TDD re-configuration indication into the DCI or CRC calculated for the DCI. In one embodiment, the TDD configuration indication is implicitly encoded as an RNTI into the CRC, when scrambling the CRC for the DCI with a TDD-RNTI. In another embodiment, the TDD configuration indication is part of the DCI payload, while the CRC for the DCI is scrambled with a cell identifier, identifying the target cell for which the dynamic TDD re-configuration is to be applied. In still another embodiment, the TDD configuration indication is part of the DCI payload, where the DCI payload further includes an invalid parameter indicating to the mobile station that the DCI carries the TDD configuration indication.

  • Patent number: 11622266
Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for key refresh triggering. One apparatus includes a transceiver and a processor that starts a counter corresponding to a UE having a small-data traffic pattern. In response to the transceiver receiving small-data traffic associated with the UE, the processor determines if a security key is valid based on a value of the counter. If the value of the counter indicates the security key is invalid, then the processor triggers a key refresh procedure. The processor relays the small-data traffic in response to the UE having a valid security key.

  • Patent number: 11621766
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for activating a relay functionality of a ProSe capable and relay-capable user equipment within a mobile communication network. The radio base station, to which the relay UE is connected, determines whether further relays are necessary in the radio cell controlled by the radio base station. In case further relays are necessary in the radio cell, the radio base station selects a persistence check value and transmits a broadcast message in the radio cell. The broadcast message at least indicates that further relays are necessary and comprises the selected persistence check value. Upon receiving the broadcast message, the relay UE activates its relay functionality in case it determines that relay requirements for activating its relay functionality in the radio cell are fulfilled and in case a persistence check performed by the relay UE based on the received persistence check value is successful.

  • Publication number: 20230100676
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a resource allocation procedure, performed between a user equipment and radio base station. The UE is configured with at least one numerology scheme, each associated with parameters partitioning time-frequency radio resources into resource scheduling units differently. The UE is configured with logical channels each of which is associated with at least one numerology scheme. A receiver of the UE receives from the radio base station an uplink scheduling assignment, which indicates uplink radio resources usable by the UE. A processor of the UE determines for which numerology scheme the received uplink scheduling assignment is intended based on the received uplink scheduling assignment. The processor performs a logical channel prioritization procedure by allocating the assigned uplink radio resources to the configured logical channels and by prioritizing those logical channels that are associated with the numerology scheme for which the uplink scheduling assignment is intended.
