  • Patent number: 4427435
Abstract: A mixture of the compound of the formula II--CH.sub.2 CONH.sub.2 (I)with amines or quaternary ammonium compounds is used to control, in particular, micro-organisms in water and in aqueous systems.According to the invention, the compound of the formula I can also be employed without additional biocides for the control of micro-organisms in certain selected systems. These include, for example, swimming pools, ponds, cooling water, cutting and drilling oils, cellulose compositions, glues and starch pastes.Agents which contain the biocide mixture or the compound of the formula I, together with auxiliaries, are claimed.

  • Patent number: 4304590
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of diamines of the formula I ##STR1## in which R and R.sup.1 are, for example, identical and are alkyl, as active substances for the control of harmful organisms in water and other materials, especially industrial materials. Inter alia, bacteria, fungi, yeasts and algae are controlled. The control is effected in standing and running waters. In preservatives and disinfectants, the diamines are used for natural and synthetic materials, especially industrial materials.

  • Patent number: 4251469
Abstract: Trithio- and tetrathiophosphates with mercaptocarboxylic acid derivatives are preeminently suitable as extreme pressure additives for lubricants. They reduce signs of wear and have no or only an insignificant corrosive action on the parts to be protected.

  • Patent number: 4189453
Abstract: Trithio- and tetrathiophosphates with mercaptocarboxylic acid derivatives are preeminently suitable as extreme pressure additives for lubricants. They reduce signs of wear and have no or only an insignificant corrosive action on the parts to be protected. They are obtained in high yields, shorter reaction times and relatively free from by-products via the trithiophosphites by reaction of phosphorus trihalides with mercaptans in the presence of a catalyst and subsequent oxidation with sulphur or an oxygen donor.
