  • Patent number: 8780947
Abstract: The invention relates to a mirror arrangement for guiding a laser beam in a laser system having at least one first end mirror and one second end mirror, wherein said end mirrors define a resonator having an optical resonator axis, wherein the laser beam is guided into the resonator as an input laser beam and is guided out of the resonator again after multiple reflection at the first and second end mirrors as an output laser beam. The sequence of reflections at the first and second end mirror thereby determines a direction of rotation between the first and second end mirror, defined as an axis of rotation relative to the resonator axis, whereby a first beam path is defined and the laser beam circulates in a direction of rotation between the first and second end mirrors in the resonator defined as an axis of rotation relative to the resonator axis.

  • Patent number: 8582614
Abstract: The invention relates to a laser amplification system for generating retrievable laser pulses having at least one laser source, in particular with a pulse selector arranged downstream thereof for the targeted selection of amplifiable laser pulses, a laser medium for amplifying laser pulses generated by the laser source and a loss modulator, wherein the loss modulator is arranged and connected such that said modulator modulates the amplification of the laser pulses by the laser medium by loss generation so that the retrievable laser pulses are provided with a predefined pulse time and/or pulse energy. Before an amplification process for one of the laser pulses, the current amplification of the laser medium is determined and the loss generation is controlled by the loss modulator depending on the current amplification of the laser medium.

  • Patent number: 7136719
Abstract: A method for stabilizing machine processes in which the machines are regulated by a machine regulation matrix selected from a plurality of machine regulation matrixes using a detected machine sensor value, set-point values of the machines being stored in each machine regulation matrix. A process is optimized according to a predefined criterion by also using some of the machine sensor values such that a machine regulation matrix which is optimal according to the process optimization is determined from the plurality of machine regulation matrixes and is subsequently used for regulating the machines.

  • Patent number: 5134841
Abstract: A combination gas-turbine and steam-turbine process and a power plant that utilizes the process. A waste-heat recovery system with a steam-circulation system is downstream and a pressurized furnace with a combustion chamber is upstream of a gas turbine. Flue surfaces that heat air are accommodated in the furnace. A pressurized gasifier parallels the furnace. Flue gas from the furnace, preheated combustion air, and combustion gas from the gasifier are forwarded to the combustion chamber. The heat of combustion liberated in the furnace by heating the flue gas to beyond its combustion temperature is transmitted exclusively to the combustion air being forwarded to the combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 5106238
Abstract: A device for transferring solid particles from an area of higher pressure to one of lower pressure. A stack-up section (3) between the areas is full of particles and large enough to reduce the current of gas flowing through the open stack-up section from the area of higher pressure as a result of the pressure loss that occurs in the stack-up section to a level that prevents pneumatic conveyance of the particles. A conveyor is in or at the end of the stack-up section.

  • Patent number: 5094673
Abstract: An apparatus for removing dust from hot gas under pressure comprises a housing for filter units disposed in cascade between an upper inlet and a dust funnel at a lower part of the housing. Each filter unit comprises a grate array of collecting ducts to which rigid filter candles of porous ceramic tubes are connected. Clean-gas pipes communicate with the ducts and extend within the housing to a clean-gas chamber at which they open through nozzles juxtaposed with drive gas pipes capable of propelling gas through the clean-gas pipes for dislodging deposits of the filter candles.

  • Patent number: 5092282
Abstract: In the embodiment disclosed in the specification an evaporation cooling system for an internal combustion engine heat exchanger avoids valves or the like by providing a liquid-vapor separator in the vapor line between the engine and the main condenser and a bypass line for liquid coolant which bypasses the main condenser leading to a condensate line having a pump. When the temperature of the engine is high enough for coolant to vaporize, the vapor passes through the vapor line and the separator to the main condenser. A heat exchanger for a vehicle heater is disposed in the condensate line so that it always receives all of the coolant in circulation.

  • Patent number: 5059227
Abstract: A device for filtering hot, dust-laden gases with filter tubes (2) accommodated in a closed housing (1) that contains both a dirty-gas section and a clean-gas section and consisting of hollow structures (9) that have at least one exit that communicates with the clean-gas section and are otherwise closed, characterized in that the edge (11) around the exit from each tube constitutes a base and rests subject to the weight of the tube against a counterpart in the clean-gas section such that the weight of the tube and the difference between the pressure of the gas in the dirty-gas section and that of the gas in the clean-gas section act parallel.

  • Patent number: 5054435
Abstract: A furnace, especially a fluidized furnace with a combustion chamber (1) that gas flows up through and that has a gas outlet provided with a second flue (2) and a precipitator (10) for separating solids from the flue gas. The solids end of the precipitator communicates with the second flue, which accommodates a layer (12) of solid matter. The bottom of the second flue communicates by way of a solids-reintroduction line (14) with the combustion chamber. The second flue is a solids cooler and the precipitator is also a filter.

  • Patent number: 4667610
Abstract: A device for varying the height of a bed in a fluidized combustion chamber inside a pressurized housing. Bed material is supplied to the chamber from hoppers or returned back to the hoppers from the chamber through a supply line. The supply line connects the chamber and the hoppers. The hoppers have means of increasing or decreasing the pressure. To improve the means of both increasing and decreasing pressure in the known device and of cleaning the gas that enters into contact with the material in the hopper, each hopper contains a hot-gas filter that gas can flow through in two directions and each hopper communicates above the filter with a gas connection that can be maintained at either a higher or a lower pressure than the fluidized combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 4601734
Abstract: Cyclones are arranged within a pressure vessel and are connected, at the gas entry side, with a furnace by way of a feed pipe standing under pressure and a distributor duct. The cyclones are connected, at the gas exit side, to a collecting duct and a discharge pipe. The feed pipe and the discharge pipe are surrounded by an outer pipe with the formation of an annular space. The annular spaces have a connection to the interior space of the pressure vessel, and are connected with a compressor.
