  • Publication number: 20060102034
Abstract: A washing apparatus for printing and/or coating mechanisms in a processing machine is provided. The washing apparatus permits a stable disposal of soiled cleaning fluid and noticeably reducing the disposal expense in at least one printing/coating mechanism. To that end, between at least one washing apparatus 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and a return line feeding into a holding container, there is a piston pump on the line side coupled to a machine controller.

  • Patent number: 6070530
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for cleaning a rotating cylinder of a rotary printing machine. The apparatus having a washing device, including a washing brush, roller, or cloth, which can be engaged and disengaged from the rotating cylinder to be cleaned. The washing brush roller or cloth can be sprayed with a cleaning fluid (detergent, water) as well as both water. The method and apparatus ensure a controlled guiding of the detergent onto the outer surface of the rotating cylinder, which guarantees an effective cleaning and, at the end of the washing operation, leaves a relatively dry outer surface of the rotating cylinder. The cleaning method is intended to be suitable, in particular, for detergents having a biological base, for example, esters of vegetable oil.

  • Patent number: 5769461
Abstract: A releasable connection assembly couples fluid supply lines in a printing machine with the use of first and second coupling parts. The first coupling part is part of a subassembly fastened to the printing machine frame and adapted for pivotal movement about the frame. The second coupling part is arranged on a movable assembly, such as a washing unit.

  • Patent number: 5615612
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning the cylinders of the printing units of a printing machine is disclosed. The cleaning apparatus is provided with three subassemblies. Specifically, it includes a cleaning subassembly having at least one washing roller for washing the cylinder to be cleaned. The cleaning apparatus also includes a conveying subassembly for transporting the cleaning subassembly into and out of the printing unit. The conveying subassembly is dimensioned to slide into the service orifice in the frame of the printing unit while supporting the cleaning subassembly.

  • Patent number: 5136940
Abstract: An auxiliary drive for the ductor roller of a sheet-fed offset press continues to advance the ductor roller in small angular steps during press stoppages. The damping unit drive which continues to run during press stoppages drives the ductor roller stepwise by way of an eccentric drive linkage and a ratchet wheel disposed on the ductor roller journal. When the press is running, a rocker lever in the drive linkage can be pivoted away from the throw zone of the eccentric for example, by a piston actuated by oil pressure of the press's oil supply system. In alternative embodiments, the lever arm can be pivoted away by a compressed air cylinder or a suction cylinder which become operative when the press is running.
