  • Patent number: 6089552
Abstract: The invention is directed to an air spring system wherein an adequate carrying off of heat is ensured for a shock absorber (18) which is completely within an air spring (16) which includes a flexible member (4) and a roll-off piston (6). The interior spaces (12, 14) of the flexible member (4) and the roll-off piston (6) communicate with each other. In lieu of a conventional clamping plate, a funnel-shaped insert (22) is disposed between the flexible member (4) and the roll-off piston (6). The insert (22) surrounds the shock absorber (18) in such a manner that an annular nozzle-shaped narrow (23) results between the walls of the shock absorber (18) and the inner surface of the funnel-shaped insert (22). Openings (26) are disposed on the outer region of the insert (22). These openings (26) as well as the nozzle-shaped narrow (23) define a connection between the volume (12) of the flexible member (4) and the volume (14) of the roll-off piston (6).

  • Patent number: 5286010
Abstract: The invention is directed to a rolling-lobe air spring having a flexible member made of elastomeric material. The flexible member defines the wall of the air spring and includes a reinforcement layer with two mutually-crossing cord-fabric layers. A rolling lobe is formed during the operating state of the air spring and changes with the reciprocating air spring action. An additional rubberized double-layer fabric having two mutually-crossing cord layers is arranged in the flexible member of the air spring in order to reduce the installation space needed for accommodating the air spring. This additional double-layer fabric extends directly from the clamped end region which lies opposite the rolling lobe and extends in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the air spring or only partially over the non-rolling region of the flexible member. The thread angle of the additional cord-fabric layers is less than the thread angle of the reinforcement layer.

  • Patent number: 4514351
Abstract: The application discloses a process for the preparation of plates, films, sheets, strips, rods, molded parts, objects or profiles of high mechanical strength, from thermoplastic synthetic resinous materials, whereby the thermoplastic material is initially heated in an extruder or a similar installation equipped with a mixing and heating device to at least its melting or softening point, the emerging extruded mass subjected during or after a cooling process in a forming device, pressure drawing device or other accessory installation to at least one pressure stretching at a pressure from about 90 .sup.N /mm.sup.2 to 1500 .sup.N /mm.sup.2, preferably from about 155 .sup.N /mm.sup.2 to 1000 .sup.N /mm.sup.2, and/or to at least one pulsating pressure or shearing pressure treatment. Preferably, the pressure stretched or shearing pressure treated synthetic plastic material is subjected subsequently to at least one further tempering, preferably cooling and/or processing step.
